Chelsea told world class act would be great signing – Blues encouraged sign big man – Striker addresses Chelsea links
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
Lille striker Jonathan David has responded to the speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea
His performances have led to speculation that both CHELSEA FC and Newcastle are interested in getting some kind of transfer deal done in the January window – as the two both looked to add some more depth to the squad.
Chelsea only Nicolas Jackson as their main striker – and although Armando Broja is a decent back-up – he is not the quality that David would bring to that Blues squad if signed.
The Canadian international – rated at €65 million – is one of the most highly-rated striker in Europe and a player that the Chelsea board believe they could turn into one of the best players in Europe, according to reports on the Sun Website.
The transfer window has not brought the type of business that many people had hoped for and Chelsea have struggled to make any serious offers for their top transfer targets – which has meant that they have had to change tactics
Such speculation has been pointed out to David in a recent interview with Telefoot. The Canada international admitted to being ‘flattered’ by the rumours linking him with a move to clubs such as Chelsea.
“When you’re young, these are the clubs you watch and think about,” David said. “It’s flattering, I appreciate that.”

David is a very good young striker that has already proven that he has the ability to score goals at the very highest level of the game – so for the right amount of money – he would be a solid addition to the side.
CHELSEA FC fans would prefer the club sign someone like Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney – but David would be a very good third option for th Blues if they are unable to get their top targets all signed up.
CHELSEA URGED TO SIGN OSIMHEN –
Chelsea have been urged to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen with the Nigerian expected to leave the Italian club in the summer, with a number of sides interested in his services.
It is no secret that CHELSEA FC are desperate to add another striker to the attack and it is also no secret that Osimhen is a player that the club have been eyeing up for the last couple of transfer windows.
The Big Nigeria star has already admitted that he is leaving Napoli – the Italians have already confirmed that he will be getting sold in the summer – meaning that the likes of Chelsea will be able to get a deal done if they meet the £111 million clause.
Now – amid all the speculation and rumours – Fabrizio Ravanelli has admitted he believes Osimhen would be ideal for the Premier League, and could be a great addition to that Chelsea side.
Speaking to Mega Dice, Ravanelli said: “Osimhen is very similar to [Erling] Haaland, although not quite up to his level just yet. But he is a fantastic player – very strong, with quality in the final third of the pitch.
“He scores goals in every way, with his right, his left and with headers. He is a complete striker, for me one of the best in the world.
“Manchester United would be a good club for him, despite them being in a difficult moment. They would be the ideal team for Osimhen – Chelsea and Arsenal also need a striker like Osimhen.”

CHELSEA FC have the money – they have that big club feeling and they are prepared to pay the money it would take to get the man signed up – he could be a great signing for the club.
Coming to the Premier League will always be difficult – but at the end of the day – it is a risk worth taking to sig this man.
BENZEMA MESSAGE SENT –
Chelsea continue to be linked with a late January transfer window move for Karim Benzema, but they have been told he could be a great signing.
Some big names have been linked with a move to CHELSEA FC – but so has the name of Karim Benzema – who decided to ditch European football just six months ago and make the move to Saudi Arabian football for the money.
But according to L’Equipe, the striker is expected to stay in Saudi Arabia despite the recent rumours., and the report adds that those around the 36-year-old say he feels good and will remain with Al-Ittihad
However – to L’Equipe now say that Benzema has sought permission to leave Al-Ittihad, so that he can reignite his career elsewhere.
His £85.9million-a-year wages could pose a problem for all the big clubs – but Former player Boudewijn Zenden believes he would be a great fit this month.
Speaking to Betway, he said: “I believe the one thing that’s missing at Chelsea is a striker that could make a difference. Benzema could be that player. We go way back but look at Hasselbaink, Drogba – they always had strikers to give you the edge.
“That’s what they’re lacking a little. Benzema’s record is second to none – he would really help the club…”
