Bailey offer, Suso move, Willian talks, Pedro-Hazard message, Bale all feature in Chelsea Tuesday

Here is a roundup of todays Chelsea news, gossip and transfer rumours.

Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey has admitted Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United were all interested in a deal over the summer.

The 21-year-old is one of the most promising young forwards in Europe and was wanted by several top clubs in the summer after having another impressive campaign for the Germans.

The Premier League trip seemed to show the most interest in trying to nail down a deal for Bailey though, and reportedly all made offers during the summer transfer window to try and bring him to the Premier League in a deal that could have been close to the £100 million mark.

But Bailey, who is still making a name for himself in the game, explained it was not the right time to make such a big move and opted to sign a big contract in the summer to commit his long-term future with the club.

Manchester United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool – a lot of clubs were interested,’ Bailey told FourFourTwo.

‘But the most important thing as a pro is taking things a step at a time and not rushing to the top too quickly. Because once you get there, where do you go next?

‘I believe the right timing is important, and it was the right moment to be at Bayer Leverkusen. They are a tremendous club with so much history.

‘A lot of good players have come from there; they can get into the Champions League and are always doing well. So why not them? ‘It was the perfect move for me and I’m happy I made it. My focus isn’t really on moving anywhere yet.

‘I’m just about what’s happening right now rather than what could happen in the future. I’m still learning.’ (Read full article)

Barcelona are reportedly ready to offer Arsenal and Tottenham target Malcom in a player-plus-cash deal for Chelsea star Willian.

It was no secret in the summer transfer window that Willian was open to a move away from Chelsea, as the Brazilian was seemingly not happy with the lack of game time he received during Antonio Conte’s final few months at the club.

And the Catalan giants attempted to sign the Brazilian over the summer in a bid to freshen up their squad, but after weeks of rumours the Spaniards decided against matching his £70m asking price set by Chelsea.

However, with the January transfer window just a few months away, La Sexta has claimed Barcelona have not given up hope of adding Willian to their star-studded squad and are now ready to make a fresh move in the winter window.

It has even been suggested that the player’s agents have met with Barcelona to discuss the likelihood of a deal, and to sweeten any potential business with Chelsea, the Spaniards are also ready to include the unhappy Malcom as part of the deal.

Barca paid £36 million to acquire the services of Malcom just a few months ago in hope that he could add something to the squad, but they have not been impressed by his impact and are reportedly open to the idea of letting him leave, with both Arsenal and Spurs interested. (Read full article)

Chelsea have edged closer to a possible deal for Italian midfielder Marco Verratti after talks over a new contract with PSG stalled.

The little maestro became one of the most sought after players during the summer transfer window after helping PSG to a domestic treble, as the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal were just a few names linked with a possible deal.

New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was looking to put his own stamp on the midfield and bring in a few players that would help his style of play make a big impact on the Blues side, but could not convince PSG to depart with one of their best players.

The French giants are aiming to become one of the most dominant sides across Europe and are looking to build a side that will be capable of challenging for the Champions League title, so they opted to keep hold of Verratti and open talks over a new contract.

But after weeks of negotiations, Calciomercato are reporting that talks between Verratti and PSG over a new contract have stalled, which has alerted a whole host of clubs to the possibility of swooping for the 26-year-old, who is under contract with PSG until 2021.

It is believed the two parties cannot come to an agreement over the players weekly wage, as Verratti is reportedly asking for far more than what PSG are prepared to pay. (Read full article)

Reports have claimed Chelsea have now ‘taken the first steps’ in trying to sign AC Milan winger Suso during the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old previously spent three years with Liverpool, making 14 Premier League appearances, but failed to make any sort of impact on the Reds squad and he was eventually sold to the Italian giants for a small, small fee.

But since his move to Milan he has become one of the most exciting and creative wingers in Seria A and already has three goals and seven assists to his name this season, with his performances catching the eye of Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.

Suso has a contract running until June 2022, but Milan are hoping to tie him down for a further year. The player himself is happy at the club and also wants to pen fresh terms with the Rossoneri, but the TMW website has claimed Sarri’s already put the wheels in motion to secure Suso’s signature.

The Spaniard would be seen as an alternative to the ageing Pedro and the Barcelona linked Willian, with reports emerging which have claimed his agent has already met with the Spaniards to discuss a possible move to the Nou Camp this January transfer window.

Spanish journalist and pundit Eduardo Inda has claimed Real Madrid are willing to let Chelsea and Manchester United target Gareth Bale leave in the coming transfer windows

Bale signed for Madrid way back in 2013 for a then record fee of £86 million after progressing into a real superstar at Tottenham, and since his move to La Liga the Welshman has developed into one of the games very best players.

But after the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, Bale has failed to step up and fill the Portuguese superstars place in the Madrid side, and now his team-mates are beginning to turn on him, that is according to Inda, who says he has been informed of the squad’s unhappiness with the forward.

Inda was speaking on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, where he claimed Florentino Perez is aware of the squad disharmony supposedly centring around Bale.

And Inda goes on to suggest that Madrid will be willing to let Bale leave in the coming transfer windows, if chasing clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United are willing to meet the £100 million price tag they have placed on the wingers head.

Both Chelsea and United are desperate to add to their squads this coming January, as they both are keen to regain the Premier League title away from the dominant City, who are arguably the titles favourites this season. (Read full article)

Chelsea star Pedro has hailed Real Madrid target Eden Hazard as the clubs most important player

Hazard has started the new season in fantastic form and already has nine goals to his name in all competitions, helping Maurizio Sarri to an unbeaten start to life in the Premier League.

His performances however, has led to a lot of speculation that he could depart the club at the end of the season and fulfil his dream of playing for Spanish giants Madrid, who are reportedly ready to splash the cash and nail down his signature for a fee of around £200 million.

He has become an integral part of the Sarri set-up, with the Italian giving Hazard the freedom to play his best football and show the world just how good he can be.

And Pedro has now admitted that Hazard is the most important player at the club, admitting that he is delighted that the Belgians start to the new season.
“He’s the most important player here. He’s a star for us,” he told Chelsea TV.

“Eden is playing very good. It’s very good news for us that he’s in very good form.” (Read full article)
