Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
Chelsea have been tipped to win the race for one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents.
The 18-year-old striker burst onto the scene last season and earned himself a new five-year deal with the club last spring.
The Republic of Ireland international’s netted 14 league goals in just over 30 appearances for Brighton and has attracted interest from come of the Premier League’s biggest and best clubs.
Ferguson has netted a whopping four goals in four matches for the Seagulls already this season after a stunning hat-trick against Newcastle, and he is now a talent that the likes of Man City and Arsenal have been linked with in recent days.
And after his impressive start to the new season, the £100 million valued striker has now been tipped to make a move to Stamford Bridge in the coming transfer window, as the Blues will look to continue spending the cash.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Reporter Iomie Stanley said: Ferguson is the man of the moment right now, and an exciting talent for the future.
“He’s a bit of an old school centre-forward, he’s got that physical profile to lead one of the top sides in the Premier League, and we are sure that some big offers will arrive in the coming windows.
‘With the way that Chelsea are splashing their cash – the age of Ferguson and the talent – he suits their plan perfectly.
“They are looking to sign a striker in the next window and we wouldnt be surprised to see an offer made for Ferguson if he continues the start he has had this season.
Brighton chief executive Paul Barber recently sent a clear transfer message to the likes of CHELSEA about trying to sign Evan Ferguson
‘In Evan’s case, it’ll be in at least five years’ time!,’ Barber joked to TalkSPORT.
‘Ultimately the technical staff are making the key decisions on where a player is in his development, whether he needs more first team games or needs to go on loan or if we need to trade earlier or later.
‘Ultimately it’s going to be a collective decision but it’s driven by the technical staff and we’re relying on them to make those judgements regarding the players’ development.
‘There are times when it’s better for us to keep a player in and around our first team group, training with us and getting the odd first team appearance from the bench or in cup games, while on other occasions it’s better for them to go out on loan in Europe and others it’s better for them to stay in this country and be somewhere where we can keep a far closer eye on them.
‘For those decisions, Tony and I leave them to the technical staff and we only really get involved when we get to the financial decisions and where we go next.
‘It’s a combined effort, it’s a team effort and we’re as much of a team off the pitch as we are on it and Tony and I both believe that we’ve got to work collaboratively and effectively, but ultimately, Roberto De Zerbi is making the big calls when it comes to the playing squad.’
SANCHO BOOST –
Jadon Sancho will reportedly push for a transfer away from Manchester United in January, alerting the likes of CHELSEA.
On the back of his £75 million ($94m) arrival from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in 2021, the highly-rated wideman has registered just 12 goals through 82 appearances and failed to impress like many had hoped.

It is suggested that the working relationship between the England international winger and his coach Erik Ten Hag has completely broken down at Old Trafford. With there seemingly no way back, a move that suits all parties.
Sancho’s publicly hit back against United boss Erik ten Hag and insisted he had been made a ‘scapegoat’ following criticism for failing to reach the required performance in training.
The Daily Star reporting that a loan deal in January is considered to be the most likely option, with that agreement including the option for a permanent transfer to be pushed through in the summer of 2024.
Amid all the speculation, England boss Gareth Southgate attempted to provide the Man City academy product with a boost of confidence, Discussing Sancho’s international future with England, the Three Lions boss said: ‘I think that’s the challenge for him now.
‘It’s been the best part of a couple of years since we worked with him, it’s difficult to say exactly the position that he finds himself and where he is with it all.
‘But for every player that’s not with us, there is always an opportunity if they can seize the form and have the (right) level of performances,’

Look, CHELSEA were heavily linked with a move for Sancho in the summer window, but Man United opted to put a massive asking price on the head of the lad and a move never even got close.
He is well down the pecking order at Old Trafford now and a move away may be the best option for everyone involved. But we do believe that a move away from the Premier League may be the best option.
Sancho is not made for the English game and will have much more success if he makes the move back to the Bundesliga, heads to Spain or makes a move to Italian football.
CHELSEA WANT SARR GONE –
Chelsea are ready to let defender Malang Sarr leave the club with several clubs in Turkey monitoring his situation.
The talented defender came to Stamford Bridge with alot of hop that he could develop into one of the very best defenders in the game – but he has not been given the game time needed for that to happen – and he has been a bit of a flop.
He spent last season out on loan with French giants Monaco – but the Ligue 1 outfit opted against giving him a permanent move to the club and sent him packing back to Stamford Bridget.
But Sarr is completely out of the picture at CHELSEA and has not made a single matchday squad this season.
The former France Under-21 star could now seal another loan exit with the transfer window in Turkey still open until 15 September, with a number of clubs reportedly interested in a deal according to Football Insider.
