Frank Lampard sent huge transfer message about possible Chelsea arrival of 68-goal hitman
Frank Lampard has been warned about making a January Chelsea move for striker Timo Werner.
Now the media have started going crazy over the past few days after it was revealed that Chelsea are looking to get their transfer ban overturned ahead of the January transfer window, with the appeal date all set to take place on November 20th.
If the ban does get overturned, then it will mean that Frank Lampard will be able to delve into his transfer kitty at Chelsea and spend some of that £130 million which was raised in the summer transfer window to help improve the side for the second half of the season.
And one player that has been lined up for a proposed move, if you believe the reports, is German striker Werner, who is easily regarded as one of the best young strikers in the game right now.
Werner has been scoring goals for fun over the Bundesliga and already has 68 goals in just over 100 appearances for RB Leipzig, and his performances for the Germans has meant the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been keeping a very close eye on his development.
However, former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has claimed that a move for Werner, could compromise the great form of TAMMY ABRAHAM, WHO has scored nine Premier League goals so far this season, with only Jamie Vardy having scored more.
“Don’t go and get a centre-forward for £60m because that’s going to upset Tammy and that applecart and I don’t like to see that happen because Tammy’s going really, really well at the minute,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“He’s comfortable in what he’s doing, he’s playing really, really well.
“He’s got a bit of pressure on him because obviously [Frank] Lampard’s made him the main man and you don’t need to go and sign someone like Werner.”
Now look, we are delighted to see that one of the best talents in English football is getting the football he deserves and is also getting the chance to prove himself at a club like Chelsea, but for the club to progress, they need to add.
Abraham is scoring the majority of goals for Chelsea right now, but will not be able to do that throughout the season, and although Michy Batshuayi has been decent, he is too hit-and-miss, while Olivier Giroud is all set for those exit signs.
So even though Bent doesn’t want Werner signed, he would be that something extra up top that Chelsea need.
