Sarri to raid Dortmund again? Maurizio sends Chelsea men to Holland ahead of move for exciting 11-goal hitman Isak
Reports have now claimed Chelsea are eyeing up a summer deal for Borussia Dortmund’s exciting striker Alexander Isak, who has been labelled the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The London club are waiting to learn the result of their appeal against a two-window transfer ban handed down by Fifa as they have lodged their appeal, but that has not stopped the club from eyeing up possible summer signings as they seek to get back to the very top of the game.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is ready and waiting to delve into his transfer kitty and try to improve on e few key areas of the pitch in the next few windows, and adding a new striker of two will be a priority as Gonzalo Higuaín and Olivier Giroud have simply not been good enough this season.
And one name that has been linked with a move to the Premier League is that of Isak, who is on loan in the Netherlands at Willem II and has scored eleven goals in eleven appearances for the Dutch side, with ten of those goals coming in the last six games.
The Mirror claim Chelsea sent scouts to watch Isak in action in his club’s last outing against Ajax, and were impressed by what they saw after the Swedish talent netted.
With speculation swirling Isak was unhappy with being loaned out to Willem II, the centre-forward revealed he would consider his options at the end of the current campaign with a number of big clubs chasing a potential deal after being impressed by his performances this season.
He said: ‘I want to play for a really big club in a big league. I will see about my near future at the end of this season.’
Chelsea are always on the look-out for outstanding young players that can come in and develop into top-class stars, and Isak is certainly showing the kind of potential that many top clubs are looking for in young talents.
However, Chelsea have a habit of buying talents and then never playing them in the first team, which is why a lot of youngsters have starting staying away as they are not given the chance to shine, or are loaned out for many seasons.
Chelsea are a big club that would be an attractive switch, but if Isak wants game time and a chance to shine on the biggest stage, a move to Stamford Bridge would not be the right move just yet.
Maybe when he is more established in the game.
