Will Chelsea welcome headline taking striker Haaland after being told £107 million will get deal wrapped up?
Chelsea will reportedly have to pay over £107 million to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland before the summer of 2022, but is he worth it?
Now Look, Frank Lampard has one of the most exciting and dynamic sides in the Premier League and with the right signings in the summer, could become real contenders for that Premier League title next season, especially if they manage to land a new striker.
We all know that Tammy Abraham has been brilliant for Chelsea this season and is leading the line well, but Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi can be hit and miss, meaning that Lampard will need to delve into that transfer kitty and land a striker, a forward that can bang in goals on a weekly basis.
Many fans will have their favourite on who the Blues should sign in the summer to improve this squad, but we believe that a £100 million move to sign up the Bundesliga sensation Haaland, would be a move worth making for the Blues, but there has been a feeling that Dortmund do not want to sell their big man.
According to Sport, the Bundesliga outfit have a verbal agreement with Haaland and his agent, Mino Raiola, which aims to keep the striker at the club until 2022. But should a bid exceeding £107m be tabled, Dortmund may reconsider their stance.
Italian great Christian Vieri, who knows a thing or two about scoring after hitting 259 goals in 525 career games for club and country, reckons the youngster will go on to become the best striker on the planet
Speaking on Instagram Live with Corriere della Sera, the former striker recently said: “In a couple of years he will go to a great team for €200m, maybe €300m [£260m].
“Haaland is the strongest of all [strikers] and has done well to choose Borussia Dortmund, the best club to enhance his talents.”
Look, Haaland is tipped to be one of the best players of his generation and if he carries on scoring the type of goals he has been, he will be the best striker in the game.
If Chelsea want to pay the money to secure a transfer deal, then £107 million could be seen a real bargain because in a few seasons time, he will be worth double that, just like Vieri says.
He is very young, very gifted and worth that £107 million
