Chelsea welcome new signing – Striker can join Blues for £84M – Brand new signing sends Blues fans message

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –

Napoli will drop their asking price to £84million in order to allow Chelsea target Victor Osimhen to leave this summer on a permanent deal.

Osimhen was a player that was heavily linked with Chelsea at the beginning of the transfer window, there was alot of speculation that the Blues were ready to pay big money in order to get a deal done.

However – that Blues board have decided to spend alot of their transfer money on seven new signings that are for the future – and interest in the big Nigerian star has wavered in recent weeks.

But Reports emerging this this week have given the Blues a boost, with Napoli now willing to consider accepting Romelu Lukaku in a part exchange deal, which has got the transfer talk that Chelsea could sign Osimhen once again.

Now reports in Italy state that Antonio Conte’s new side could open up to cheaper bids for Osimhen just to secure the money and a transfer this year rather than risking having two expensive forwards in 12 months including Lukaku.

Osimhen’s release clause is around £111million but the Italians will accept £84 million in a bid to get the striker sold this summer.

And amid all the speculation and rumours – ex-Blues star William Gallas has claimed that Chelsea should go all out and try to sign Oismhen this window – Speaking to Gambling Zone, Williams Gallas said: “CHELSEA need a player like him. They need a player who can keep the ball and give the opportunity for the team to get up the pitch.

CHELSEA will play with one striker next season, and they will need that striker to bring other players into the game as well as being able to stretch defences with pace. Everyone has seen what he is capable of.

“What he did for Napoli the season before last was exceptional. If there is even the slightest chance of signing him, then Chelsea must go for it.

“They need a player that can consistently score goals otherwise they will have the same problem as last season…”

JORGSENSEN SENDS MESSAGE –

Filip Jorgensen has revealed that he is very happy after his move to Chelsea was confirmed this week.

Here is what Jorgsensen said after his move to CHELSEA was confirmed – ‘It was very important for me to come here as quickly as possible and get involved as early as I could to be prepared for the new season, to learn how the manager wants to play, and to get to know everyone,’ Jorgensen tells us at the team hotel in Atlanta

‘I am very happy with how the last 12 months have panned out,’ he acknowledges. ‘I am very confident in myself and I know what qualities I have.

‘Luckily I had the chance to show myself on the biggest stage in Spain and now I am very happy to have the chance to do that at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

‘I always liked watching CHELSEA because I watched a lot of Petr Cech growing up, so Chelsea were one of my favourite teams to follow,’ he adds with a smile.

‘Robert Sanchez has been with the national team of Spain, where I live, and I followed him a bit when he was at Brighton and now Chelsea,’ says Jorgensen.

‘I know he is a very good goalkeeper and I hope we can learn from each other and produce the best versions of ourselves together.’

CHELSEA WELCOME NEW SIGNING –

Chelsea have announced the signing of stopper Filip Jorgensen from Spanish side Villareal’

The Blues had Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez competing for the gloves last season, while Kepa Arrizabalaga was out on loan at Real Madrid, but Clearly they were not happy with their goalkeeping options, though, as they made a move for Jorgensen.

CHELSEA have now splashed out £20.7m to bring in 22-year-old goalkeeper Jorgensen from Spanish club Villarreal after months of speculation about whether or not he would be making the move to the Blues.

Chelsea posted on the club website: The 22-year-old has signed a seven-year contract with the Blues and joins up with his new teammates during our summer tour of the USA.

Born in Sweden, Jorgensen joined Villarreal at 15 years old after time in the academies of Swedish clubs GIF Nike and Malmo and Spanish sides Santa Catalina and Penya Arrabal and Mallorca.

After three years in the Spanish club’s youth set up, he was promoted to Villarreal B and made his senior debut against SCR Peña Deportiva in October 2020.

Jorgensen soon started training regularly with the first-team squad and established himself in the Villarreal B side. In December 2021, he was handed his debut in a 7–1 win over Atletico Sanluqueno in the Copa del Rey.

His La Liga debut followed in January 2023 and ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, Jorgensen secured his place as Villarreal’s number one goalkeeper.

He made 37 appearances across all competitions last season and helped Villarreal to an eighth-place finish in the Spanish top flight.

Welcome to CHELSEA, Filip!

Jorgensen said: ‘This move is a dream come true. I am very excited to have signed for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world. I can’t wait to get to know everyone and to start playing with all my new teammates.’
