Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed today –

CHELSEA have announced that striker Catarina Macario has now joined the club

Chelsea are wasting no time in strengthening their squad after losing to Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League this term and manager Emma Hayes is keen to keep on improving that squad.

Despite regaining that WSL title – Hayes is desperate to add that Champions League title to the cabinet and is hoping to sign players that will help her achieve her goal of becoming a European winner.

Macario scored eight goals in 17 senior international caps for the world champions. She helped her former club Lyon win last season’s Women’s Champions League

The 23-year-old has signed a three-year deal with Chelsea until the summer of 2026. Macario makes the switch to London after the conclusion of the Division 1 Feminine season in France,

And after sealing her move – she admitted just how happy she was – she told the club website: ‘I can’t wait to get started here!’

. ‘I’m really happy to sign for Chelsea and I hope to represent the jersey well over the next few years.

‘I can play either as a No.10 or a more traditional number nine and I’m looking forward to linking up with so many good forward players such as Sam [Kerr], Lauren James and Guro [Reiten].

‘It will be good to play with Kadeisha [Buchanan] again also.

‘I’ve been fortunate to have some great experiences in Europe already with Lyon, playing with many top players and of course winning the Champions League also.

‘I hope to carry on those experiences here and bring home the trophy for Chelsea as well!’

Poch a fan of Neymar –

CHELSEA manager Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of Blues target Neymar – who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge

Neymar has been linked to Chelsea in recent weeks, with reports in France claiming that the Blues have made contact with PSG over a possible move.

Meanwhile, rumours have also been swirling over the Brazilian making a return to Barcelona this summer, but it seems that the Spaniards are no longer interested in signing the Brazilian star.

Pochettino and Todd Boehly are hoping to add a star to the team next season, with Neymar one of the big names being regularly linked to a move to Stamford Bridge.

The new boss has already worked with the Brazilian at PSG and he has spoken very highly of the winger.

He said: “It’s so easy with Neymar because you don’t need to do too much.

“From day one, he’s been very open to work. He’s very humble, he listens and always accepts all the instructions in a very good way.

“Brazilian players have something special inside. They love to play football because it’s like a dance. They play like they are dancing.

“Ronaldinho was my teammate when I was a PSG player and now Neymar. They need to feel good, to feel happy to perform in the best way.”

Adding Neymar to the side would certainly be a statement signing for the club – but it still may be the wrong decision.

He is not built for the Premier League and would really struggle to make an impact – he is not the star signing that the club need.

But adding him to the squad for headlines – that would happen.

Chelsea to hold Lukaku talks –

Inter Milan will open talks with CHELSEA over Romelu Lukaku after the Champions League final.

Lukaku was loaned to the Italians last summer after Chelsea decided that he would not be the man to lead their attack over the season – even though they didnt really have an adequate replacement.

The Belgian is set to return to Stamford Bridge next season, with his loan at Inter coming to an end and new boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to assess if he fits into his plans.

Lukaku’s priority is to stay at Inter but the clubs will meet for talks after he faces Manchester City in Istanbul this weekend, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta recently admitted that the decision is in Chelsea’s hands. He said: “Romelu loves the shirt he wears, he is very comfortable at Inter.

“These are fundamental aspects, this desire of his to be with us. But he is on loan until June 30.

“He will return to Chelsea, and we don’t know what will happen on a technical level at that club.

“At the moment we are at the window.”

Look – let Lukaku leave the club – he does not want to be there.

If CHELSEA can get some serious money for the man – they could use that to land one of their top transfer targets – so why give him another chance to lead that attack when we all know he cant do it in the Premier League?

We are not 100 per cent certain on the future of Lukaku – but we would not be shocked to see him head back out on loan again – or sold on a permanent basis.
