Blues legend Wise has message for Lampard after deal agreed to make Chelsea return?
Chelsea legend Dennis Wise has urged Frank Lampard to snub a move back to the Blues and stay at Derby.
Sarri has told Chelsea he wants to return to Italy after just one season in England, after a number of fallings out with his top stars and the media, and after a few days of talks, he agreed a move to sign for Juventus.
Sarri never felt comfortable living and working in England and has been tempted back to his homeland with a move to Juventus, who has decided to part ways with boss Max Allegri, despite the Italian boss bringing back another Seria A title.
Sarri feels he can leave with his head held high after winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League, two things which he was brought in to try and accomplish at Chelsea.
But his departure from the club opened the door for Chelsea to seal a deal for Lampard, who has been impressing at Derby this season.
Lampard is heavy favourite to succeed the Italian boss at Stamford Bridge in the coming days, with some reports even suggesting that a deal has already been agreed.
But Blues legend Wise, Lampard’s predecessor in Chelsea’s midfield, argues it’s too soon for his former team-mate to take such a huge step.
He told Sky Sports: “Is it too soon for him? I think it is. I look at the staff he may bring in as well. Jody may come alongside him and he’s a bit inexperienced in a coaching capacity.
“If Frank does come in, he probably needs to bring someone with a bit of experience. There probably will be some changes, because he’ll want to bring his own staff in.
“Frank, from a playing and personal point of view, everyone loves him at Chelsea, but he hasn’t been long in coaching, and neither has Jody. It worries me a little bit, but if they get it I wish them all the luck.
“It’s going to be tough for them, but fingers crossed they do the right thing for Chelsea.”
Would Chelsea fans really like to see Lampard back at the club knowing that his reputation could be ruined under Roman Abramovic?
The Russian is ruthless with bosses and wants nothing short of perfection, which may be a problem for Lampard considering he will not be able to assemble the squad he needs to challenge for that Premier League title.
