Chelsea board working on deadline day deal to sign striker!

CHELSEA are working on signing a striker before the close of the transfer window is just a few hours time.

Mauricio Pochettino has seen alot of players come and go this transfer window – but he still has not got the side he believes could challenge for that Premier League title this season, and many believe will struggle to get into Europe.

A new forward is what the Argentine boss is keen to sign this summer and if you believe the reports on the Football Insider website, the club are still looking at getting a striker signed before the close of the window.

There has been some big names linked with a move – but it is believed that the Blues will most likely get a young forward that will be signed on a massive contract in order to stay inside the financial Fair play regulations.

HERE ARE SOME MORE OF TODAYS TRANSFER NEWS –

COLE PALMER EXCITED ABOUT MOVE –

Cole Palmer has opened up and admitted that he is excited after officially completing his move to Chelsea on deadline day.

The 21-year-old has signed a seven-year contract with the option of a further 12 months. and The deal sees Chelsea pay an initial £40m for the attacking midfielder, with £2.5m due in add-ons.

‘I’m excited to get started and it feels great to sign,’ said Palmer. ‘I’ve joined Chelsea because the project here sounds good and because of the platform I will have to try to showcase my talents. It is a young and hungry squad and, hopefully, we can do something special here.’

Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: ‘Cole arrives with experience of winning the Premier League and Champions League and adds further quality and versatility to our attacking unit.

‘He has showcased his talent and potential in the most challenging environments and delivered on the international stage for England this summer at the European Under-21 Championships. He is undoubtedly ready for this next step and we are delighted it will be with Chelsea.’

SMITH ROWE FREE TO MAKE MOVE TO BLUES –

Arsenal have told Emile Smith Rowe he can complete a permanent move before the window shuts, and CHELSEA have made an offer.

A couple of seasons ago – Smith Rowe was a member of the squad that Mikel Arteta loved to play on a weekly basis – but a series of injuries and some big signings by the Gunners means that he is no longer part of the side.

That has led to many reports in the media that West Ham are interested in a potential deal for the man – but it now seems that Chelsea have contacted Arsenal over a potential deal for Smith-Rowe, according to the Football Insider.

The report says Arsenal could accept a £35-40million offer for Smith Rowe, who has three years left on his contract.

MUSIALA WANTED BY BLUES –

Chelsea are hoping to swoop in and sign Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala this summer, according to the latest reports.

The Bayern starlet notched 16 goals and assists apiece across all competitions last term and is easily regarded as one of the most exciting young players in world football right now, and a man that Bayern have big plans for.

CHELSEA are keen to splash some more money this transfer window and keep on adding to a squad that is simply too big as it is, with recent claims suggesting they are ready to pay close to £70 million to try and sign Musiala.

But despite the transfer speculation – transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed why the Blues’ move for the German is ‘absolutely impossible’ in an interview with GIVEMESPORT.

Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “For the other names, at the moment, I’m not aware of any negotiations between Chelsea and Barcelona for Raphinha.

‘Then let’s see if at the end of the window they’ll decide to do but at the moment, they are not negotiating for Raphinha and Jamal Musiala, I think is impossible. I think for Bayern Munich to sell Musiala with two days left of the window is absolutely impossible.”

BARCOLA DECISION MADE –

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the €40m (£34.2m) signing of Lyon forward Bradley Barcola, who Chelsea were keen on signing this transfer window.

Barcola will replace Brazilian superstar Neymar following his move to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia earlier this month. He scored seven goals and laid on a further 10 assists for Lyon in all competitions last season.

CHELSEA were heavily tipped to sign the exciting forward this summer after making contact with the French side over a possible deal for the striker – but then PSG made their moves to sign the lad and the player only wanted to move to PSG.

The 20-year-old French forward fits in with the new PSG strategy of buying young, hungry players.

PALMER TO CHELSEA MAKES SENSE –

Over the past few days – it has been claimed that Cole Palmer is a player that the board are keen to bring to Stamford Bridge in a deal that could cost the club a massive £45 million.

ZAK SURGE CLOMPLETES PETERBOROUGH MOVE

Zak Sturge has completed a season-long loan to Peterborough United.

CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘The young defender heads to the League One side for his first taste of senior football, having impressed for both our Under-18 and Under-21 sides since joining from Brighton.

‘Sturge, who can play in the centre of defence or as an attack-minded left-back, will team up with Darren Ferguson’s side and could make his debut against Portsmouth this weekend.

‘Best of luck with Posh, Zak!’

LUKAKU CANT WAIT TO GET STARTED – Romelu Lukaku is ready and raring to go at Roma.

Speaking to after his loan move from CHELSEA, he said: “The welcome I’ve received from this club and its fans has excited me and given me even more motivation to give my all for my new team.

“As an opponent, I felt the atmosphere of the Stadio Olimpico, and felt the warmth of the Romanisti.

“It’s nice to know I’m a part of it today. I recently got the opportunity to speak with the owners, and I was impressed by their ambition.

“Now we must work, be humble, and grow game by game. For my part, I can’t wait to be available to my teammates both on and off the pitch.”

POCHETTINO COMMENTS ON CUCURELLA FUTURE –

Mauricio Pochettino has commented on Marc Cucurella’s CHELSEA future, but has failed to give anything away.

The Spaniard has been in the transfer headlines alot over the past few months as he is a player that is not part of the Blues bosses plans this season, and not Man United are closing in on a potential deal.

The Red Devils are keen to improve that left-back area after an injury to Luke Shaw and it is claimed that they want Cucurella on loan to help fill the void of the English International.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“I know nothing, maybe you know better than me,” said Pochettino. “All the players that are involved everyday at the training ground with us, training with us, are in our plans then things happen.

“It is the decision of the club and player, player and club, if something happens in the next few days we will communicate to you.”
