Chelsea will now meet and hold talks with Xavi about becoming boss of the club this summer

As a player, he won 31 trophies for Barcelona and Spain, including the 2010 World Cup, two European Championships, eight LaLiga and four Champions League titles.

He coached Barca in 141 games, with 89 wins, 23 draws and 29 losses, leading them last season to their 27th league title and first in four years.

Barca’s stuttering season led Xavi to say in January that he would resign at the end of this campaign. But after discussions in April at club president Joan Laporta’s home, he agreed to stay on – with a series of unspecified conditions set by the club.

Then, four weeks after confirming their former midfielder would honour the last year of his contract and lead them through next season, Laporta changed his mind and axed the coach after a season with no silverware

The Blues are looking for a suitable candidate to replace Pochettino at the helm and according to journalist Pedro Almeida, they are set to open talks with Xavi to evaluate the possibility of appointing the former Spain international as their new head coach

Xavi is a quality boss that did the best that he could at Barcelona – but with the fact that he is a top boss that is his own man – he would struggle with the power battle with the CHELSEA board at Stamford Bridge.

After the sacking of Pochettino – we do not know who would be the best option for the club simply because the board are so involved with decisions – but if Xavi does come to London – he could really struggle to get his style of play to work in the Premier League.

This is certainly another interesting link.#
