Italian Zappacosta opens up and tells Chelsea he is interested in summer transfer deal!
Reports have claimed Chelsea star David Zappacosta has expressed an interest in staying with Roma.
The season is on hold right now, as the coronavirus is taking over the world, but that has not stopped all the speculation in the media about possible signings that Frank Lampard could make at the end of the season, and players that could be leaving.
Lampard has already managed to secure deals for Willy Caballero and Olivier Giroud over the past few days, with reports also suggesting that Willian may also get a 12 month extension to his current deal, with Lamps keen to keep hold.
But one player that looks almost certain to leave the club is that of Zappacosta, who has made no impact on the Chelsea side since he moved to the club just a few seasons ago.
The Italian joined the Serie A club on loan last August after signing a contract extension with Chelsea but made only one substitute appearance for the Giallorossi before he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in training.
But According to Goal.com, Davide Zappacosta hopes to remain on loan at Roma after recovering from a bad knee injury which has sidelined him for much of the season.
After a lengthy recovery period, Zappacosta hopes to be involved when the 2019-20 season eventually resumes in Italy.
‘On a personal level, I would love to stay in Rome for several reasons,’ he told Sky Sport Italia.
‘The main one is that I want to show the fans, my team-mates and the management who I am and what I can do. I have worked a lot in these months, I have trained and I have made sacrifices to be available at the restart of the championship.
‘I am doing some sessions completely dedicated.’
Look, Zappacosta is done at Chelsea and the Blues should make sure that they get rid of the player, and use the funds to try and bring in their top summer targets.
If the price is right, Chelsea will sell, but the money has to be right, as we said!
