Onana opens up and announces world class Chelsea signing Ziyech ‘to destroy’ the Premier League
Ajax star Andre Onana has told Chelsea fans that new signing Hakim Ziyech will destroy the Premier League next season.
Chelsea surprised many people over the past week and beat the likes of Manchester United to the signing of Ziyech in a deal worth £37 million, as the impressive winger will arrive when the summer transfer window opens up at the end of the season.
Ziyech has made a real name for himself with the Dutch giants and has confirmed himself as one of the very best wingers in Europe right now, and was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer, but the high price tag but off the London based club and they have waited until his price tag lowered just a bit.
The youngest of nine children to a Dutch mother and Moroccan father, he loved the game from an early age, and his dad was ever-present by his side during his time with local amateur side Reaal Dronten.
The coronavirus crisis has cast doubt over when Ziyech will actually be able to pull on a Blues shirt for the first time, with the current Premier League season due to be extended throughout the summer.
But the 27-year-old will make a huge impact when he eventually turns out for his new club, according to Ajax stopper Andre Onana.
The Cameroon goalkeeper, who has been touted for a move to Chelsea himself in the upcoming transfer window, believes that Ziyech has what it takes to be a success in the English top flight.
Speaking to Dutch outlet NOS, Onana said: “When he leaves [Ajax], we will lose the most brilliant player on the team. It will not be easy.
“He was already here when I got here. I can understand why [he is leaving]. I understand his choice.
“I am happy for him and proud of what he has done for this club. I wish him the best of luck. He’s going to destroy everything [in the Premier League].”
Ziyech is a special player that Chelsea have managed to sign for an absolute bargain, so the Blues should be proud of themselves for signing such an impressive player for the next few seasons.
