Van Gaal announces Chelsea ‘are getting a special player’ after completing world class deal
Louis van Gaal believes Chelsea are getting a great team player in Hakim Ziyech, who will be arriving in the coming months.
Chelsea may have not done the January business that many fans would have liked to see happen, but the Blues moved swiftly after the transfer window and secure a transfer deal for the very impressive Ziyech, after it was confirmed on Thursday that Chelsea had agreed a £36.6million deal to sign the Morocco international.
The 26-year-old starred in Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals last season and also helped the Dutch side to their first League in a good few seasons, with an impressive return of 16-goals and 13 assists in 29 League games for the Dutch giants
He will be putting on that Chelsea shirt for next season when he arrives sometime in July, and many Chelsea fans are excited to just what he can bring to the club for the next few seasons.
Now Dutch boss Van Gaal has opened up and claimed Ziyech is a great all-round player, and that Chelsea have signed a special player.
He told NOS: “He has developed tremendously at Ajax. Not so much in creativity, but as a team player.
“The public has come to realize that he works very hard for a creative person. And then he also scores goals and gives assists.
“Then you are a special player.”
Ziyech should be one of a number of signings that Chelsea will surely make during the summer transfer window and if his arrival shows the type of quality that the club will be looking to sign, it could be a real statement summer for Lampards side.
The club hero knows he is well off the pace of the top clubs in the Premier League and needs to add a world class defender, another midfielder and possibly a top-class striker to the side.
He should have the money, so he needs to spend it very wisely during the summer window as this side still needs work in order to get challenging for that Premier League and Champions League title.
