Stunning News! Zidane officially tells Chelsea £100 million target Bale ‘will be leaving soon’
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has told Chelsea that Gareth Bale is very close to leaving Real Madrid this transfer window.
Now that star man Eden Hazard has officially left the club and signed for Madrid in a deal worth around £115 million, Chelsea are lining up a number of possible transfer replacements if their transfer ban gets overturned.
And that has led to speculation that Chelsea could try and acquire the services of unhappy Bale, who has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu all season, as the 29-year-old has struggled to hold down a starting place in the Real side since Zidane returned in March and the manager has consistently refused to offer assurances over his future.
Bale has won four Champions Leagues, La Liga and the Copa del Rey during his six years at Real but is all set for an exit after Zidane admitted that he does not suit the team anymore.
And now the Frenchman has admitted that Bale is all set to leave the club, telling the Sky Sports website: “The exit is the coach’s decision, and also of the player, who knows the situation.
“The situation will change, I do not know if in 24 or 48 hours, but it will, and it’s a good thing for everyone.”
“Bale did not play because he is very close to leaving,” Zidane told reporters.
“We hope he leaves soon, it would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team.
“I have nothing personal against him, but there is a time where things are done because they must be done, I have to make decisions, we have to change,” Zidane added.
Chelsea losing Hazard is a massive blow to the club, and if they cannot find an adequate replacement because of the transfer ban, it could be a difficult season for the Blues next year.
But even though Bale has not had the best of seasons at Madrid, he would bring 20-30 goals to Chelsea if the Blues were able to complete a deal and the news that he is done at the club will come as a massive boost in their chase to get a deal done.
He would be a fantastic buy for the Chelsea side, if they were not in the transfer ban.
