Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Ben Chilwell appears to have dropped a hint on his future at CHELSEA, as the defender looks increasingly likely to leave the Blues when the transfer window opens up in just a few months time.

The 27-year-old defender has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge for a while now after falling out of favour under Enzo Maresca, and It appears that plans to sell Chilwell could already be in the works. On Wednesday, the Englishman broke a two-month silence on his Instagram feed, showcasing pictures with some family, friends and also colleagues at Cobham training ground.

In the comment section, a user, who was tagged playing paddle in one of Chilwell’s pictures, left an intriguing message under the post. @rampa_keinemusik wrote: “Exit strategy loading…”

Reporter Iomie Stanley has recently come out and claimed that the Blues will look to get a deal done for the defender in the January transfer window- He told icfootballnews: ‘The 27-year-old left-back, once a key figure in Chelsea’s defense, may be deemed surplus to requirements under the potential leadership of boss Enzo Maresca.

‘Enzo Maresca has shown a preference for a system that values ball retention and attacking full-backs with strong technical skills. His tactical approach relies on defenders who can seamlessly transition into midfield during build-up play. While Ben Chilwell has the attacking prowess and speed to bomb forward, his recent form at Chelsea has been inconsistent, particularly in terms of his defensive positioning and ball distribution.

‘Chilwell’s injury record hasn’t helped his cause, either. After a lengthy spell on the sidelines last season, the England international has struggled to recapture his best form. Maresca has opted for players better suited to his tactical vision, and that is why they have been so impressive during the opening weeks of the season.

‘Chelsea have shown a willingness to offload players for the right price as part of their squad overhaul under Todd Boehly. A sale of Chilwell in the January window could provide an opportunity for the club to recoup funds and reinvest in other areas of the squad.

‘Several Premier League clubs, as well as teams across Europe, could be interested in Chilwell, who remains a high-quality full-back when fully fit.

‘With Chilwell’s future at CHELSEA now uncertain, the January transfer window may be a pivotal moment in his career. it wouldn’t be surprising to see Chilwell leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular game time and a fresh start elsewhere.’

‘And there will be plenty of clubs that could be interested in a potential deal for the defender.’

WILL DAVID SIGN IN JANUARY?

Lille striker Jonathan David has hinted he will not leave the French club in January, with the likes of CHELSEA one of the many clubs that are reportedly interested in signing the striker in the next couple of transfer windows.

davidDavid has earned a reputation as one of the finest strikers in Europe’s top five leagues. The 24-year-old has scored 97 goals in 202 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants. His displays alone have caught the attention of some of the biggest teams in the game.

He has scored 13 goals in 18 games for Lille this season and with Chelsea seemingly still interested in adding a new striker to that attack, there has been talk that the Blues are ready to open up negotiations with the striker and come to some sort of pre-agreement deal that sees him get signed at the end of the season.

But any teams that had hope of signing David in the January window have now been shot down, as the Canadian star has hinted that he will not leave Lille in the middle of the season: “Going to a club mid-season is never easy,” David told The Athletic.

“It’s not like the beginning of a season where you have a pre-season, you get to know your teammates, you have time to gel.

“In January, things are very hectic. It’s about right now. It’s tougher.”

David has been linked with a whole host of big clubs for the last few seasons, there is alot of interest in the player, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

CHELSEA are one of the clubs that are interested, it seems that the board are keen to sign David on a free, but as we said, he will have plenty of options in the coming windows and needs to make the right career choice.

But we would not be surprised to see him snub a move to the Premier League that is for sure.

CHELSEA SHOULD KEEP NKUNKU

Jamie O’Hara has slammed Christopher Nkunku for ‘moaning’ about his game time – but warned CHELSEA not to cash in on their sulking star.

Only afforded starts in cup competitions, the Frenchman has sttill been impressive, notching up nine goals in seven games in the Carabao Cup and Conference League combined.

However – with his Premier League minutes being limited by Enzo Maresca, there has been some shock reports in the media which have claimed that a move to Man United could be on the cards, as the Red Devils are reportedly interested in a deal for the French star.

But pundit O’Hara believes the club should not even think about selling Nkunku and said the forward must learn to wait his turn.: ‘Chelsea should absolutely not be selling Christopher Nkunku,’ O’Hara told  Grosvenor Sport. ‘He’s a top player and they can’t be getting rid of him in January.

‘I don’t know what he’s moaning about to be honest – I know he’s not playing week in and week out in the Premier League, but that’s fair play to the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer.

‘Nkunku just has to deal with it – he was injured all of last season and has come back this year, so he needs to fight his way back into the team.

‘Chelsea are doing well and are in a good place at the moment, so Nkunku just needs to accept it and fight for his position.

‘Big clubs need top players in every position, so I can’t see Chelsea cashing in on him. Manchester City have top players in every area twice over, so if Chelsea want to get to that kind of level, then stuff like this is just part and parcel of being successful.’

Nkunku is putting in the performances for CHELSEA in the cup competitions, he has been impressive, but with Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson the two that Enzo Maresca prefers, the rumours will continue to spread.

But look, football is about money and if Chelsea can get alot of money for Nkunku, they will sell, it kind of is that simple guys.
