Christmas has come early for Chelsea as Frank Lampard speaks transfers after ban is lifted!
Frank Lampard has opened up about whether or not he may make some signings in the January window, after Chelsea had their transfer ban shortened.
Lampard was appointed boss during the summer transfer window in a shock move, and he had to work with the side that he currently has as Chelsea were unable to sign any players after getting a ban at the beginning of the summer window.
But after appealing their ban last months, Chelsea have now found out that they will once again be able to sign players and improve on the side, especially as the Blues are seeking to clinch a top four spot and possibly some transfers.
And the Chelsea manager revealed he will hold talks with club director Marina Granovskaia ahead of any potential bids but is keen not to upset the balance he has established with his current squad
‘It depends on the player,’ said Lampard when asked if he plans to spend on the Sky Sports website.
‘ ‘We have to keep the balance of the squad and it has to feel right. It doesn’t matter if it’s January, July or not.
‘One thing I felt that when you come into a club sometimes players you bring in is key to that.
‘Going forward it is something that I will bring to the club. It won’t just be myself. I have a very open discussion with Marina. It will be a challenge and hopefully we will get it right.
‘The fact that people have given us credit, that has to go to the group. I want more and to be higher up the table. If there is a chance to strengthen it, then we will look at it.’
There is no doubt that this exciting Chelsea side has the potential to become a top side on the Premier League, but they still need a few top-class additions to help the younger players reach their potential.
It is claimed that Lampard will be able to spend around £150 million during the January window, and they should spend it on world class players.
