Sorry Liverpool, Ooh well Chelsea as £100 million Brazilian wants Manchester United move
Reports have claimed Liverpool and Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho would leave Barcelona in the summer for a move to Manchester United.
Barcelona signed the Brazil international from Liverpool in a £142 million deal last January, and he seemingly adjusted to life at the Nou Camp with relative ease, becoming one of the most creative players at the club.
But this season has been a different story for the talented winger, and he has struggled to make an impact on the Barcelona side, with only nine starts in eighteen La Liga games for the Brazilian, which has led to a lot of speculation that both Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.
But according to the Daily Mirror, Coutinho would prefer a move to Old Trafford if he were to make the move back to the Premier League and has already spoken to several United players about a move at the end of the season, with a fee of around £100 million circling the papers.
It is claimed Coutinho has admitted he misses the Premier League and that he favours a move to United, knowing a move to Liverpool will be very difficult considering the circumstances in which he left the club while Chelsea are facing a transfer ban.
United have been monitoring Coutinho’s situation and have already approached the midfielder’s representative to register their interest and ask about the possibility of a transfer in the summer transfer window.
Could United seriously complete this deal?
United have the financial capability to land any player in world football and most players would love the opportunity to sign for the Red Devils, but this is just speculation.
Barcelona will not want to let one of their biggest players leave the club and Coutinho would not want to leave after fighting so hard to get the switch to Barcelona.
United have more realistic targets that they could complete deals for so this one should just be put to bed as it will not happen.
