Arsenal handed Brazilian update, Willian message sent, Gunners in talks over swap deal, Arsenal very interested in signing Gabriel, Ozil has future update

Arsenal handed Coutinho update, Willian message sent, Gabriel interest confirmed, Ozil staying, Torreira swap deal in Arsenal news roundup..

Philippe Coutinho’s agent has dismissed links to Arsenal and suggests the Barcelona playmaker could stay at the Nou Camp this summer.

There has been alot of rumours in the media over the past few months which have suggested that Coutinho was done at Barcelona, the Spaniards no longer want him in the squad and that he is open to the idea that to a move back to the Premier League, where a number of clubs are reportedly interested.

Reports on Catalan Sport even reported that Coutinho has agreed personal terms with Arsenal to join them on loan next season, as the Gunners are looking to build a Champions League challenging side.

But Joorabchian insists nothing has been decided yet, and has even told the likes of Arsenal that Coutinho may even decide to stay at Barcelona this summer, he told TalkSport: “After the Champions League is finished, and whatever happens, then we’ll sit down.

“It could be that Barcelona is the ultimate destination.

“He loves the Premier League, but the finances and the numbers and the situation of COVID are going to play a big part.

“He’s a big player with big numbers.”

Mesut Ozil insists he will see out his contract at Arsenal and will not be seeking to move on this summer.

The 31-year-old’s current deal runs until next summer, but he has been frozen out by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and that has led to speculation in the media that the club will look to sell him on over the next few months.

However, despite the fact that he will not get much game time next season, he is happy collecting that massive wage he is getting at Arsenal and has told the fans that he is seeking to see out his contract at the club.

He told The Athletic: “My position is clear. I’m here through to the last day of our agreement and I’ll give everything I have for this club.

“Situations like these will never break me, they only make me stronger. I showed in the past that I can come back into the team and I will show it again.”

Arteta previously revealed he would only pick players who were ‘on the boat’.

He added: “I can’t talk about my private conversations with the coach.

“But I can tell you I know my body well. I was fit enough to play every game before the break and, apart from a small injury, it was the same after.

“My daughter was born while we were off so maybe I was not always sleeping perfectly, but this is normal. I actually had more energy and excitement to play because of her.

“As a player, you sometimes have bad days and can’t always be happy, especially if you’re not playing.

“When you know how good you are and you know you’re not going to be picked, it’s hard to be at 100 per cent and, of course, you can get disappointed.

“This is my profession, it’s what I love doing: being on the pitch, playing matches, showing the people, helping the club and my team.

“I fully respect the coach’s decision but I believe these things should mainly be decided on the pitch.

“After the restart, I wasn’t given a chance to show what I can do. You don’t play 10 games in a row if you’re unfit, not good enough or don’t behave well.

“If I played these games badly and was then left out completely for that reason then I might understand, but this was not the case.”

Arsenal could tempt Roma with a swap deal involving out of favour midfielder Lucas Torreira, as they are interested in Amadou Diawara

Torreira completed a £26million move from Sampdoria to Arsenal last summer and the 23-year-old had a promising debut season in north London, making 50 appearances in all competitions.

But so far this season the 23-year old has struggled to kick on after his great first season and has only recently managed to force himself into the plans of Mikel Arteta.

Torreira has constantly showed his desire to leave the Arsenal, and once again it’s fair to say Torreira has not played down such a possibility again during this transfer window

“Last season, I played with continuity,” Torreira told Radio Sport890.

“This one, less so. This year was more difficult. I lost rhythm and confidence. I don’t like it. At my age, I need to play to be called up to the national team. Transfer rumours? There’s nothing at the moment.

“I need to rest because it has been a very long season, I got injured and then there was the Coronavirus. I have a contract with Arsenal, but if I were to change in the future, it would be a decision taken for my own good. Any player looks for a team in which he feels important.

” We’ll see what happens in the future”.

Now, According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma could represent a potential destination for Torreira instead, with Amadou Diawara moving in the opposite direction.

Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian refused to confirm the Brazilian will join Arsenal – but said the winger’s future will be announced soon.

Having become one of the most important players during his time at the Bridge, Willian is seen as one of the only world class players at the club and one that Frank Lampard is desperate to keep hold.

But we all know that he was out of contract, we all know that no new deal was on the horizon and we also know that Mikel Arteta is desperately keen to make sure that he signs him over at the Emirates.

Reports have even suggested that the Arsenal have put in a three-year contract offer to the Brazilian in order to keep him in the Premier League, and most importantly, London, where his family are nicely settled.

However, Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian has refused to confirm the Brazilian will join Arsenal – but said the winger’s future will be announced soon.

“He had a fantastic seven years at Chelsea,” he told talkSPORT.

“He had a fantastic relationship with Frank and respected him a lot.

“For now, I can’t say, but we know where he’s going and it will be announced soon.”

Arsenal are serious about signing Lille’s Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes, according to reports.

There is some speculation in the media that Mikel Arteta will be handed the kind of funds he needs to improve the side in the summer, and will look to bring in another defender in order to help improve that dodgy back-line.

The Lille defender’s performances in Ligue 1 have attracted plenty of interest from other high bidders in Europe over the past few seasons, and considering the Gunners still need to improve the summer transfer window, he has has been added to that list.

And recent reports have claimed that the representatives of the Brazilian is now in the UK talking to prospective clubs about a move to England in the summer, with Arsenal seen as an ideal destination for the Brazilian.

Now Athletic journalist David Ornstein has opened up and claimed that Arsenal’s interest in trying to sign the defender is incredible, and a deal that Mikel would very much like to do.

Speaking on AskOrnstein said: “Arsenal’s interest is credible.

“They do like him a lot.

“He’s been high up on their scouting reports for a long time now and it would be a deal potentially that Mikel Arteta would like to do to bolster Arsenal’s defence.”
