£50m star ‘suits Arsenal’ ahead of potential late January move
Guners icon Paul Merson is confident Matheus Cunha has more than enough quality to play for ARSENAL and believes the forward’s game is well suited to how the Gunners play under Mikel Arteta.
Bukayo Saka has once again been brilliant for ARSENAL this season and looks like a player that could help guide the Gunners to a Premier League title, but the club got some bad news after the winger picked up an injury that could keep him out for a few months.
Now – As per The Telegraph, Arsenal have earmarked Wolves striker Cunha as their main target in January as Arteta’s side are said to be impressed with the Brazilian. The 25-year-old has been a lone shining star in what has been a dull Wolves side, bagging ten goals and four assists this season.
It is believed that a fee of £50 million would be enough for Arsenal to sign the attacker, and amid all the speculation and rumours, Merson has opened up and claimed that Cunha has more than enough quality to play for the Gunners.
‘They will need a centre-forward in the summer but I would go and get Cunha,’ he said on Sky Sport ‘I think he suits Arsenal, I think he has that guile about him, he’s good in tight spaces, he can beat players.
‘When you’re at Arsenal, most of the time you’re playing against ten at the back and, at Wolves, teams have a go at you, but I do like Cunha.’

Cunha is quality and having the best season of his life over at Wolves, but at the end of the day, if he makes the move to the Emirates he would be trading starting on a regular basis for sitting on the bench.
That ARSENAL starting eleven is pretty much set in stone when all are fully fit, so if Cunha is signed by the club, then he will have to work very hard to get some game time on a weekly basis.
