President OFFICIALLY announces if Midfielder is joining Arteta at Arsenal this summer

Palmeiras Have told the likes of Arsenal if they will get the chance to sign 21-year-old Danilo during the summer window

The transfer window is literally just around the corner and it will FINALLY give Mikel Arteta the chance to spend some some – sign some players – and try to get this Gunners side challenging for titles once again

There has been some speculation in the media that Arsenal could once again try and secure a deal for Danilo – a player that they were close to signing just a couple of seasons ago but missed out

Danilo was only a teenager just then breaking onto the scene and he was not keen on leaving Brazil at that stage of his career – so despite all the rumours that he could have joined Arsenal – he opted to stay put

But any hope that they had of trying to get the talented man this summer have seemingly been put to bed after president Leila Pereira opened up and told the Gunners board Danilo isn’t going anywhere.

He said: “Our squad is very small. We need reinforcements. We need to buy players, not sell players.

“And, in the summer window, Danilo stays. You can put a nail in it.”

VP Buosi added: “I repeat and reiterate what President Leila Pereira said: Danilo will stay with us.

“We still have a way to go with Danilo. I repeat and reiterate: Danilo will not be sold.”

Danilo is a very talented young man that has been impressing the scouts over the last few seasons – but he is not a player that will come to the Emirates and make an impact

He is far too young and would struggle to make any sort of impact right now – The Gunners already have a number of exciting talents – they need some experienced players in the side now
