Powerful Unit ‘is desperate’ to get West Ham January transfer deal done

It has been claimed that experienced defender Craig Dawson is desperate to leave West Ham this January window

The veteran centre-back, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has made just five starts this season after struggling with injury and it has been claimed that he will be leaving the Hammers in the coming transfer windows

And it has been claimed that new Aston Villa boss Unai Emery will be in the market for an experienced central defender as he looks to get the club higher up the Premier League – and solve their defensive issues

The 32-year-old has made 87 appearances for the Hammers, helping them finish in an impressive seventh and sixth place in the previous two Premier League seasons.

Now – according to EXWHUEmployee, the player is now personally pushing for the deal to happen this month.

Speaking on The West Ham Way’s Patreon page, he said: “West Ham are currently considering a number of centre-back options to try and resolve the Craig Dawson situation.

“Dawson is said to be desperate to move back up north because of family issues and is insistent that the club accept an offer from Wolves.

“Wolves really are not the ideal club for West Ham to sell to due to their league position near us. David Moyes also does not want to sell without a good replacement lined up.”

We are pretty sure that West Ham will want to get something for Dawson in the January window rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season – so if he leaves – it will probably be best for all around
