Dutchman OFFICIALLY tells Man United if world class star wants Old Trafford move
Frenkie de Jong does not want to leave Barcelona and join Man United this summer, according to Dutch legend Ronald Koeman.
The Netherlands international has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer following the appointment of Erik ten Hag, who is reportedly keen to be reunited with his former Ajax midfielder.
Recent reports have even claimed De Jong has made a U-turn and is now willing to join the Red Devils, having previously been adamant he has no reason to leave the Nou Camp.
It has also been claimed that Barcelona are very much open to the idea of letting him leave as they are in need of funds due to their ongoing financial issues – and would accept a fee of £60M for the midfielder
Man United are hopeful of signing the midfielder and want to get the deal wrapped up this week – bur according to Koeman – the gifted midfielder does not want to make the move to Manchester
“The only thing I know is that Frenkie wants to continue at Barca,” Koeman told Esport 3.
“A couple of days ago he told me he wanted to continue. What I don’t know is if Barca wants to sell him or needs money because he is one of the few players for whom they can get a good amount.
“For me, De Jong is a great player for Barca.”
Why would Man United want to sign a player that doesnt want to leave Barcelona? they would just be getting another player that does not want to be at the club
The United board are spending all this time chasing the player – when they could be trying to sign stars that actually want to come to the Premier League and put on that Red Devils shirt every week
His possible move could be a mistake for the club – not matter how good he is
