Perfect fit! Dutchman tells £57 million De Ligt to sign for Manchester United

Former Netherlands striker John van Loen has told Ajax star Matthijs De Ligt that a move to Manchester United would be the best move for him.

De Ligt is enjoying a stunning season for Ajax and has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest prospects in recent seasons with the likes of United, Barcelona Chelsea and Real Madrid just a few names to be lining up a massive £60 million move in the coming transfer windows.

With the ability he is already showing at Ajax, along whith his physical presence, many believe thate he will eventually develop into one of the best defenders in the game, and United have been desperate to sign him up as they are in need of a top-class defender at the back.

And amid rumours that United could make a move this month, Van Loen hopes the young defender chooses the Premier League as his next destination.

“Barcelona is the best place for De Jong,” he told Goal.

“Because they play football, not kick and rush, and he is good with the ball.

“I think Manchester United is perfect for De Ligt.

“I hope De Ligt rejects Juventus’ offer.

“Italian football does not suit him and the Premier League is much better and stronger.”

Should De Ligt choose a move to United?

Despite their recent troubles, United are still one of the biggest clubs in football and to be even linked with such a move is a great honour for most clubs. But if De Ligt wants to test himself at the very highest level of the game, a move to Old Trafford would be ideal.

He wants to play on a regular basis and be the main man, and considering United need a player like him right now, he could walsk straight into the United squad.
