Defender delight after signing with Chelsea – Poch wants £100M man – Imminent signing ‘will excite’ Blues fans

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

CHELSEA ‘would absolutely love’ to lure Napoli star Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has claimed.

It is no secret that Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to improve that attack this summer transfer window – as the Blues really struggled for goals last season.

Christopher Nkunku has already make the move to Stamford Bridge – but it is no secret that Pochettino wants to add another striker and Osimhen is a man that has been linked with a move to the club.

Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli being crowned last season’s Serie A champions and was the Leagues top scorer.

But his fine form was not limited to domestic action as he also found the back of the net five times in the Champions League, taking his tally for the campaign to 31.

And if you believe the words of Jacobs – Pochettino would love to have Osimhen at the club – he told GIVEMESPORT: “Obviously, Chelsea would absolutely love a player like Victor Osimhen, but Napoli still haven’t really given anybody hope that they will sell.

“That’s down to the player to drive a move to the Premier League, but he might well be out of Chelsea’s budget.

“Let’s not forget the price that Napoli paid Lille for Osimhen. If you include the add-ons, guaranteed fee and the valuation of the player swaps, it’s a total package of €80million.

‘This is why Napoli are asking for nearly double that amount, and that’s far above what Chelsea can or would want to pay.”

After the season he has just had at Napoli – Osimhen is a man in demand and if CHELSEA really want him – then they will pay whaetver it takes to get a deal done.

It just depends on whether or not THEY REALLY WANT HIM!

Barnabe signs up –

CHELSEA Women have signed 21-year-old Spanish defender Alejandra Bernabe from Atletico Madrid on a three-year deal.

After signing a three-year contract with the Blues, Bernabe will return to her native Spain to continue her development with Real Sociedad next season, where she spent the previous campaign on loan from parent club Atletico.

Looking ahead to her time at Chelsea, Bernabe said: ‘I am so happy to be here and I’m grateful for the opportunity that Chelsea have given to me. I’m so excited because it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world.’

Manager Emma Hayes said: “Alejandra has a fantastic left foot and it’s very difficult to find players of her ability who can progress the ball up the pitch on the dribble.

“We know she can become a top left-sided player in the future and we’re excited to watch her develop and grow.”

General manager Paul Green added: ‘We believe Alejandra has the potential to be one of the best attacking full-backs in the world. Her attacking play will be a real asset for the team in the future.

‘We look forward to seeing her gain more experience with Real Sociedad next season before welcoming her back into the Chelsea family.’

Barnabe is a very special talent and one for the future – so it is the right decision from CHELSEA to buy the defender and then loan her to Sociedad.

It is a massive move for her to make – and one that she hopes will turn out to be the right decision.

He is joining the best Team in the Womens super League.

Jackson will excite fans –

Nicolas Jackson will get the CHELSEA fans very excited – it has been claimed this weekend

Mauricio Pochettino knows that he has a club that needs to sign a striker this transfer window – somebody who will be able to bang in the goals on a regular basis.

Add that to the rumours that Kai Havertz – who led the attack last season – could be leaving the club with the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all interested in a potential deal – Pochettino needs a striker.

The 21-year-old was close to joining Bournemouth in January, but a hamstring injury scuppered the move, and not it seems that a move to Stamford Bridge is on the cards according to reports

IcFootballnews has learned that Chelsea have agreed to pay the £34 million asking fee for Jackson – and he has already agreed personal terms – so now the Blues are closing in on their next signing.

And ahead of his imminent arrival  Sky Sports News reporter Mark McAdam has claimed that he will be a very good signing for the club – he told the Transfer show: “Nicolas Jackson will excite Chelsea fans, absolutely. This is a player who has huge potential.

“He’s a focal point No 9, he’s got the ability to drop into pockets of space and link the play. He’s hard-working, he’s got great technical ability, his finishing has improved. He’s certainly proved in La Liga he can score goals.

“He’s versatile, he can press from the front and has all the attributes you need. The only question mark I would say is whether he needs another step – would Bournemouth have been a good first step for him? They were so close to signing him in January.

“But I’ll say this under my breath – could he be the next Didier Drogba? Could he be that player for CHELSEA?”

Jacksin is a very good player that could be world class – but we believe that the Premier League is not the right place for him and although he may be exciting at times – he will not be a game-changer
