Arsenal and Liverpool target Depay admits ‘i want to go to a club like Chelsea’ this summer

Lyon star Memphis De[ay would like to make a transfer move to Chelsea.

Manchester United decided to offload Depay in 2017 after the winger failed to make the kind of impact that many expected after his big money move to Old Trafford, but the Dutchman has re-established himself in France with some eye-catching patches of form and his performances have actually linked him with a move back to the Premier League.

That led to speculation that both Arsenal and Liverpool may be interested in trying to secure a transfer deal, especially as both clubs are looking to add something different to their attacks.

But in a new autobiography named Heart of a Lion, Depay has penned a list of six clubs he would like to join in the coming month

Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City were named as possible destinations, as was one of Lyon’s Ligue 1 rivals.

“I want a new transfer to a top club this summer. Lyon is a big club but it’s not one of the five best in Europe,” Depay said in his book.

“I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.

“I want to go to a club which suits me. To a team which really wants to play football. I’m not even half-way through what I want to achieve.”

Chelsea are in the midst of appealing their transfer ban and will have to wait until they find out the decision before they can start buying players.

But even though Depay has made a name for himself over in the French Leagues, he is still too inconsistent to make a move back to the premier League and play for one of the big clubs.

He would not be the man that Chelsea need to replace Eden Hazard, and he would certainly struggle to get into the Blues already impressive attack.

So even though Depay would like a move to Chelsea, it would be a massive shock to see him in a Blues shirt for the next few seasons.
