Director confirms ‘i am confident’ £55M star will complete Chelsea move within the week.

Southampton director Jason Wilcox has spoken out about the sale of Romeo Lavia and confirmed that he could sign with the Blues this week.

Lavia is a man that has been on the shopping list of Liverpool all transfer season and it was widely expected that the Reds were closing in on a deal for the gifted young man.

However – Lavia looks set to sign for CHELSEA for £50million after choosing Stamford Bridge over a move to Liverpool, after the Blues upped their interest and made the decision to bring him to the club.

It is believed that he has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and it is just the finer details that both clubs are working out, but Director Wilcox has revealed that a deal could be done this week.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID 

Wilcox said: “We had an offer which we accepted from Liverpool but then Chelsea came to the table.

“We’re currently in negotiations with Chelsea, I’m confident that something will get done in the next week or so.”

Right Move For Lavia To Make?

Lavia is one of those talents that proved himself in the Premier League last season, despite the fact he could not help Southampton from Relegation, and coming back to the Top-flight this summer just made sense.

He is joining a Chelsea side that is building for the future, that is not demanding immediate success and that has full of stars ready to battle for that starting spot.

He will be given a real chance under Mauricio Pochettino this season – and he needs to make sure that he grans it with both hands or he could find himself sitting on the bench.

We are not sure if this is a Pochettino signing or a signing from the Board – but Lavia is certainly a player that many believed would be playing for Liverpool this season and not Chelsea.

Anyways, CHELSEA fans will welcome the signing of Lavia.
