Disrespect! Manchester United boss Mourinho takes aim and then takes swipe at Liverpool boss Klopp
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has taken a swipe at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after defending his record in the Premier League.
He was unable to secure the transfer deals he wanted in the summer, as he did not get the backing of the board, and has once again fallen out with a number of his first-team players, most noticeably Paul Pogba.
The special one has once again come under intense pressure for the start to the new Premier League season and has actually been tipped by the bookies to be the next manager sacked.
And as many United fans know, the Red Devils have reportedly lined up former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, who is keen on a switch to the Premier League and a move to Old Trafford in particular.
However, Mourinho continued to defend himself and took a swipe at Liverpool’s manager when talking to the media on Friday.
When it was put to Mourinho that Klopp had never claimed to be a great, he replied: ‘I am the manager of one of the greatest clubs in the world but I am also one of the greatest managers in the world.
‘Because he never win anything international for example.
‘That’s his problem, I tell you what I think, I tell what I feel. Jurgen tells you what he wants. And I answer you the question – that’s easy.
‘I had last season great success. I had great success last season, that’s what you probably don’t want to admit. I analyse my performance, myself and for me is more important what I think than what you think.’
Here is what we think.
Mourinho is just lashing out on the other Premier League managers to deflect all the media attention away from the fact one of his star players Pogba is keen on a move away from the club as he is sick of working with the Portuguese boss.
Klopp is a world class manager that is building something special at Liverpool and it just shows disrespect from the special one.
But he is one t\of he greatest ever to grace the game and the media do not need to criticise his record in the premier League or anywhere else for that matter, United will not just sack him as right now there are no better options available.
