Director addresses speculation deal with Chelsea will happen for £65M star
Bayern director, Max Eberl, has addressed speculation about the Bavarians’ potential interest in CHELSEA‘s Christopher Nkunku, who is reportedly open to the idea of making the move to the Bundesliga giants this month.
Nkunku has been at Chelsea for a few seasons now, but has really struggled with injuries during his time at the club, and despite the fact he has 13 goals this season, Nicolas Jackson is seen as the clubs number one striker.
Enzo Maresca loves to employ Jackson as his main man in the Premier League, meaning that Nkunku has only been able to get much of his minutes in the conference League and cup competitions, which is not what the attacker wants.
That led to reports in the media over the past few days suggesting that Chelsea are open to the idea of letting Nkunku leave the club, and are ready to let him got for £65 million amidst the Bayern Munich speculation.
But while addressing the speculation, Eberl downplayed the likelihood of a deal for the French international: “We have a squad that is sufficiently equipped in terms of quantity and quality. We have no interest in doing anything in January,” he told Spox.
Reports suggest Chelsea and Bayern have entered discussions regarding separate deals for Nkunku and Bayern’s 19-year-old forward, Mathys Tel. However, Bayern remain unwilling to part ways with the promising talent.
“Mathys Tel? We’re extremely happy with our squad”, Eberl added

Look, CHELSEA would be foolish to sell Nkunku this January window unless they are signing a striker that will come in and add to the side immediately, especially as the Blues are struggling for goals.
He is a quality player that brings so much to the side, so if he does leave the club, it would be a mistake that Chelsea could regret come the end of the season
