Edouard to replace Lacazette at Arsenal, Arteta gets all clear to sign gifted midfielder, Depay admits Aouar wants move and Koeman confirms Arsenal target has asked to leave

Edouard to replace Lacazette, Arsenal get green light to sign Sanson, Aouar looking for big move, Neto wants move in Arsenal roundup….

Arsenal have set their sights on Odsonne Edouard as the desired replacement for Alexandre Lacazette,

Lacazette has scored nine goals in 21 appearances and has netted five times in his last six matches for the Gunners, but many reports in the media believe that he is not part of the long-term plans at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.

And it seems that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are once again showing a keen interest in trying to sign the Frenchman either this transfer window, but much more likely in the summer transfer window when the COVID-19 is under a bit more control.

Atletico tried to bring the France striker to Spain before he joined the Gunners for £46.5million from Lyon in 2017 and tried again in the summer window, but the Arsenal board were reluctant to sell as they did not have the funds to sign an immediate replacement.

But according to the Daily Mail website, the Gunners have already shown an interest in trying to acquire the services of the sought-after Edouard in the summer.

Edouard is one of the most talented young strikers in the game and has become a real source of goals for Celtic over the past few seasons, with his performances linking him with all the biggest clubs in England.

Arsenal are one of a number of Premier League sides in the race for Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson, and the French club are open to a possible deal this month

The France international almost left the French club in the summer after a number of clubs showed an interest, but the French giants were keen to make sure that they managed to keep hold of the lad, and he stayed put.

However, with Marseille now out of the Champions League, he could be a notable transfer to England this month, as there is more speculation in the media that the likes of Arsenal Tottenham, and Aston Villa are all showing a real interest in the talented young man.

And it seems like a move isn’t out of the question either, after boss Andre Villas-boas opened up and admitted that a deal could happen this month, Speaking in his post-match press conference after a 2-1 home defeat to Nimes, Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas said: “We’ll see. The transfer window is open, Sanson is a player who is highly rated.

“Officially, we have not received any offers, unless it happened during the match.

“He is a boy who interests English teams because of his characteristics, and it is possible that something could happen.”

Lyon star Memphis Depay has said that himself and Arsenal target Houssem Aouar both the ambition to play at the very pinnacle of the game.

Depay has been a player over the past few months that has been in the transfer headlines alot, with all the top Premier League clubs, along with the likes of Barcelona linked with the former Manchester United star.

Depay flopped during his last stint in the Premier League, but since his move to Lyon, he has looked like a totally different player and with his contract out at the end of the season, he is now looking to get back to the very top of the game.

Memphis has explained that himself and Aouar are eager to take a step up: “We know we play for a very big club but we want to go to one of the top three clubs in the world,” he told Canal+. “Then you will see Houssem, he will get 10 times better. For me, it’s the same.”

Aouar has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates and was the main target over the summer window, but the Gunners board opted to make a move to bring Thomas Partey to the club, meaning that there was no funds left to get a deal done for the Frenchman.

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that goalkeeper Neto has asked to leave the club in the January transfer window.

Arsenal spent some decent amounts of money in the last transfer window, and although they have had an inconsistent start to the new season, there squad is alot better than the one that won the FA Cup last year.

Runar Alex Runarsson was a player that arrived at the Emirates from Dijon in the summer, with the 25-year-old committing his future to Arsenal through to 2024, but so far he has not made that much on an impact on the side.

That means that Arteta is left with Bernd Leno between the sticks, but even he has not been the best this season, and although he has just brought a stopper to the club, Arteta has revealed that Arsenalfc are now seeking to sign a new goalkeeper.

And recent reports have claimed that Arsenal are preparing an £18 million offer to try and secure a deal for Neto.

Neto is rated very highly across Europe, but is not getting much game time over at Barcelona, and has been tipped to leave in the coming windows after reports emerged suggesting that they need to sell in order to help balance the books at the club.

But amid the speculation, Koeman has opened up and revealed that the Arsenal target has asked to leave, Koeman recently said: “It’s true that his representative has asked the club for an exit and we have said no because he is an important goalkeeper for us and we want to be very well covered at each position.”

Look, Arsenal may not be able to get a deal done for Neto this month, but the fact he has asked for a move away from the club means that the Arsenal board will be able to make a move in the summer.

He would certainly be a very good signing for the Gunners.
