Striker to sign five-year deal after Newcastle agree £36M fee to sign Ekitike

Newcastle have reportedly agreed to sign Reims striker Hugo Ekitike for around £36m including add-ons, reports have claimed

Newcastle are expected to be one of the biggest spenders over the next few months as boss Eddie Howe is looking to add a bit more quality to the defence – midfield and attack.

Ekitike is a France U20 international and also has experience playing on the left wing, and reports during the January window Newcastle wanted to add a new striker to the squad before the window closed.

And it seemed that they have a deal done for the highly-talented Ekitike, but that move collapsed with the striker unwilling to leave his side midway through the season – but it seems that he will be joining in the summer window

The 19-year-old has reportedly indicated he wants to join Newcastle, despite interest from Borussia Dortmund, and is expected to sign a five-year contract.

And the Daily Mail has claimed that Newcastle have agreed a fee of £36 million including add-ons to bring the exciting young man to the club

Look, Ekitike is clearly a very talented striker that could have a big future in the game, but if the Toon are keen to add another striker to the squad, he is not the player that will help them get out of that relegation battle.

The board need to sign players that will make an immediate impact, Ekitike is not that

He is just a man that is making all the right noises in the game right now -so although he may be a very good signing for the club – he is a player that will need alot of time and patience from fans and the manager
