£300k deal on table as striker hits headlines, Petit sends Emery warning, Defender to be Arsenal success, Midfielder asks Arsenal to consider offers
Here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news from icfootballnews.com
Emmanuel Petit has claimed that Unai Emery’s job at Arsenal ‘if far from safe’
After a torrid few months of results at the Arsenal, there has been a lot of transfer speculation in the media that the Spanish boss is heading towards the exit signs in the coming months, with a number of bosses reportedly on the list of Arsenal.
It has been claimed that talks have been held with LUIS ENRIQUE have already been held, while there is massive interest in trying to secure a deal for former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.
Arsenal have come out in recent days and EMERY IS THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB, But ex-Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit thinks that Emery’s job is far from safe unless results improve quickly and dramatically.
He told PaddyPower: “I believe it’s time for Unai Emery to leave Arsenal. The results are not good at all. I don’t recognise this team anymore and I don’t recognise this club any more.
“Arsene Wenger built this club for 20 years and there was concern as generation after generation came and went. But now they look like an average team without any inspiration or creativity – and I don’t think that’s solely down to the players.
“My opinion is that most of the players have given up on Emery, so it’s time for him to go.
“I watched the game against Leicester and Arsenal looked terrible. They had no spirit, no hunger, nothing at all. I wondered to myself, “What is going on at this club? What is happening to this club?”
“In order to save his job he’ll need to be given until some-time around Boxing Day. But he’ll need great results and a huge difference in the style of the team on the pitch. There needs to be anger on the pitch, spirit.
“The club are lying about Emery – his job is not safe
“What the club came out and said about Emery’s job being safe is not true at all. Everyone knows this, the typical official language clubs send out to the press and fans when things are not going well, when they sense tension.
“This is a political answer and most of the time when I hear officials or shareholders talk like this it’s proof for me that they’re already thinking about sacking the manager. It’s the opposite of what they’re saying that might be true.”
Kieran Tierney has been backed to kick on and be a huge Arsenal success this season.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spent over £130 million on improving his defence in the summer with the signings of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan Bassika, but there is a feeling around that the Red Devils are still one defender short.
And one player that was reportedly on the shopping list of Solskjaer was that of Tierney, the Celtic defender that has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the past 12 months.
United may have been interested, but it was Arsenal who managed to complete a £25 million deal for the talented young man as Unai Emery sought to also improve key areas of his defence ahead of the new Premier League season.
And the former Celtic defender’s no-nonsense attitude and will to win have endeared him to Arsenal supporters across the globe already, who have been impressed with his very limited performances in a Gunners shirt already.
A lot is expected of the £25million signing when fit and firing, And Celtic Captain Scott Brown insists fans will soon see the best of the ‘fantastic’ youngster.
Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT’s James Savundra, the Celtic skipper said: “He’s a fantastic full-back, he’s got everything you could ask for.
“He’s got pace, he’s got strength, he’s got that drive inside him that wants to win.
“He had that at Celtic, he showed his qualities and that’s why Arsenal wanted him.
“I was sad to see him go because he’s a great player and a great friend as well, but it was the right time.
“He will kick on and show everyone what a quality player he is.”
Fresh reports have claimed that Barcelona are lining up an ambitious move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as he considers his future at the Emirates.
Since joining from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, Aubameyang has scored 50 goals for the club, and the Gunners are desperate to end all speculation that the striker could be interested in a move to the likes of Real Madrid or even a lucrative switch to China.
The Gabonese striker is contracted to Arsenal until 2021 but the club are hoping to get him to commit his future beyond then by offering him a bonus if they finish in the top-four this season, with recent reports suggesting Arsenal are unable to offer Aubameyang a basic package that would match top-earner Mesut Ozil’s wages but will include lucrative incentives in any potential deal, which will be close to the £300,000-a-week mark.

Reports have claimed Lucas Torreira has told Arsenal chiefs to consider January offers.
Torreira completed a £26million move from Sampdoria to Arsenal last summer and the 23-year-old had a promising debut season in north London, making 50 appearances in all competitions.
But so far this season the 23-year olf has struggled to kick on after his great first season and has only managed to start three Premier League fixtures under the guidance of Unai Emery, with suggestion she is not happy with life in the English game.
According to Calciomercato, the current uncertainty over his place in the team, coupled with Arsenal’s poor form, could see Torreira leave the club, and the 23-year-old is aware of interest from AC Milan and has already made it clear to Arsenal that he wants them to consider any offers.
The news comes just a few months after the speculation that he was on his way out of the club during the summer transfer window, with Italian giants AC Milan reportedly keen to take him for a fee of around £45 million.
Now Arsenal fans should not worry too much about the words of Torreira, as the young man still has a very long contract at the Emirates and still has many years of playing at the very highest level left in him.
He has been a great buy from the club and will continue to develop into one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League, he just needs the back-line to be sorted out so he doesn’t have to do cover all the mistakes of his team-mates.
