Great news? Unai Emery reveals talks as £26 million signing has ‘bright future’ at the Arsenal

Lucas Torreira has been told he has a “big future” at Arsenal as head coach Unai Emery reveals he held private sessions with the midfielder.

Torreira completed a £26million move from Sampdoria to Arsenal last summer and the 23-year-old had a promising debut season in north London, making 50 appearances in all competitions.

But so far this season the 23-year old has struggled to kick on after his great first season and has only managed to start three Premier League fixtures under the guidance of Unai Emery, with suggestion she is not happy with life in the English game.

According to RECENT REPORTS, the current uncertainty over his place in the team, coupled with Arsenal’s poor form, could see Torreira leave the club, and the 23-year-old is aware of interest from AC Milan and has already made it clear to Arsenal that he wants them to consider any offers.

Torreira has started just four of Arsenal’s 12 Premier League fixtures this season, but despite all the speculation, Emery has claimed that the little midfielder has a bright future at the Arsenal.

“He is a good player for us, he has very big commitment and very good behaviour,” Emery said.

“He has a very big future here but he must think that he needs to improve, learn in some situations to help us to do better.

“He played well last year but this year he’s not being consistent. My challenge to him is to improve, to do better with some tactical issues on the pitch and above all be consistent.”

Torreira is a brilliantly gifted little player that does have a bright future at the Emirates, so it is a massive shock to see him not get the kind of game time that he deserves, especially since his team-mates haven’t been performing at a very good level.

They need to play the young man before a club comes calling, because right now, he may be tempted to leave the Emirates.
