Arsenal interest confirmed! Emery has Arsenal transfer message over Ramsey
Gunners boss Unai Emery has stated that Aaron Ramsey is likely to stay at Arsenal during the January transfer window.
After months of speculation and weeks of talks, Arsenal finally confirmed that Ramsey would not be signing a new contract with the club after they could not agree terms on a new deal.
That means that Ramsey is free to leave at the end of the season for nothing, with recent reports Juventus are keen to take him to Seria A this month, and hand the Gunners a small fee for the Welshman.
Juventus director Fabio Paratici has even admitted that they are interested in securing a deal for Ramsey, he told Sky Sports: “Yes, we are interested in Aaron Ramsey, he’s a great midfielder. But at the moment he’s an Arsenal player, we’ll see… “
However, Emery believes that Ramsey will stay, stating: “At the moment he is working with us and I think, yes [he will stay].
“He worked very well in Liverpool. Today he played 15 minutes and he scored. He helped us for confidence and to earn a good result. I want this focus from him when he is playing.”
Are Arsenal making a mistake letting Ramsey leave?
Ramsey has had his injury problems over the seasons and has missed a lot more games than he should have, but he is a top Premier League player, and when he is on the pitch, the Gunners look a better side.
Losing him for nothing is a huge mistake and if they can get rid in January for a small fee they should take it, even if they don’t have the time to find an adequate replacement.
