Sort the issues out Unai and sign world class £50 million star for Arsenal!
Arsenal should once again try and acquire the services of Samuel Umtiti from Barcelona, as their defence needs to be sorted out.
Gunners boss Unai Emery exceeded all expectations during the summer transfer window and landed some wonderful players, that will help improve the side enough to finish back inside the top four spots, but fans have been excited by the news that there will be some more spending during the January transfer window.
And they should make a move for Umtiti, to replace David Luiz.
Luiz may have only been signed during the summer transfer window, but he has already shown the Gunners fans just why he is not good enough to slot into that Arsenal back-line any longer, and he will need to be replaced as he will cost the club too many points over the course of the season.
The gunners let a two-goal lead slip at the weekend against Watford, and once again, Luiz managed to give away another penalty and three points for Unai Emery, who is now under intense pressure to get back into winning ways.
A knee injury, which required surgery, has seen the Frenchman Umtiti lose his starting place to countryman Clement Lenglet, and reports have suggested Barcelona are willing to allow him to depart the club.
And reports have suggested that Emery is willing to spend around £50 million to try and secure a deal for the Barcelona defender, after the Spaniard admitted that he is interested in potentially signing the defender during the summer window.
It is believed that Barcelona are open to the idea of selling the powerhouse, and although Arsenal did improve the back-line over the summer, the signing of Umtiti would be a whole different level of quality.
He should be high up on the shopping list of Emery, especially as Luiz is coming towards the back end of his career.
Arsenal have a world class attack, there is no doubt about that, but they need to spend some big money in January to try and prise a world class player like Umititi to the Emirates, especially as they have the financial power to offer him a deal that he simply cannot refuse.
