Manchester United close in on possible Spurs deal as maestro ‘will not sign new deal’

Reports have claimed Manchester United target Christian Eriksen will snub any attempt by Tottenham to sign a new deal.

Eriksen has become a vital part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side over the past few seasons and is one of the creative reasons why they score so many goals throughout the course of the season, but there has been speculation that he could leave the club.

It is believed that the Danish star has refused three contract offers from Spurs over the past few months, with the latest reportedly close to the £110,000-a-week mark, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Barcelona all keeping a close eye.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a firm favourite to the midfielder, and would love to add his creativity to a United side that is lacking in top-class talent.

Tottenham are in a predicament, with Eriksen unwilling to sign a contract extension as he enters the final 12 months of his deal and it would mean he’d be free to talk to other clubs from January.

And according to Spanish publication he’ll refuse any late approach from Tottenham to enable him to leave for free in the summer of 2020, leaving the likes of United to snatch him up in the coming windows.

United are big fans of Eriksen and will be hoping that he does not leave as they will surely make a move to sign him in the January window, or for free at the end of the season.

Spurs don’t want to see the man leave, especially as they will not have an adequate replacement to fill the void, and goals, that he may leave. But they need to realise that he wants to leave and trying to offer him a deal would be a waste of time, especially as they will need to eye up possible replacements in the coming windows.

It will be very interesting to see just where he ends up in January or next summer, as surely he is not staying at Spurs?
