Abramovic gives green light for £80m man to be signed, Chelsea offered two-for-the-price of Kante, Mendy on way to complete medical, Lamps gives big Kante update
Rice offer to be made, Chelsea offered two players for Kante, Lampard on the future of Kante in Chelsea news roundup…
Frank Lampard says N’Golo Kante is ‘fundamental’ to Chelsea’s plans and has no intention of letting the Frenchman leave the club.
Kante is easily regarded as one of the finest midfielders in the game right now and is arguably the best holding midfielder, but there has been some speculation in the media that he could be sold by Chelsea in order to help finance the books.
Inter Milan have been linked, Juventus and PSG are reportedly keen, even Manchester United have pretty much shown an interest, but amid all that speculation, Lampard has opened up and revealed that he has no intention of letting the Frenchman leave the club this transfer window.
“I think pretty much every club in the world would want N’Golo Kante,” Lampard told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“I have seen those reports as well. He is an incredible player and person and I certainly don’t want to lose him. He’s fundamental in terms of what I’m trying to do.
“We can obviously talk about the attacking players we have but someone like N’Golo and the work he does in midfield… It was a difficult year for him last year because of the injuries.
“He came into the season with an injury and it was a domino effect through the year. It was probably a culmination of four or five years of games, so I’m really excited to have him fit. He looks fresh, he’s a big deal to me.
“Of course I want to keep N’Golo.”
Roman Abramovic has reportedly given the green light for Chelsea to wrap up a deal for Declan Rice
With Frank Lampard looking to build a side that is more than capable of challenging for that Premier League title next season, Roman Abramobvic has backed the club legend financially in the players that he wants to bring to the club.
But one player that has been constantly linked with a move to the Bridge, but do deal has been done, is that of Rice, the Hammers defender that is regarded very highly in the Premier League.
Rice has become one of the best holding midfielders in the top-flight, and his performances have meant that he is now a full England International, and is valued at around the £80 million mark.
However, despite all the rumours that he would be the next layer to arrive at Stamford Bridge during this transfer window, a move has not been able to be completed as the asking price is simply too high.
But Football Insider claim that the Blues owner Roman Abramovich has given the green light for a deal that is set to include England compatriot Ross Barkley in part-exchange.
Barkley previously played under Hammers chief David Moyes at Everton and the Scot is said to be keen on a reunion with the £30million midfielder, but will still be very reluctant to let his best player leave the club.
Moyes has admitted that he does not want to lose Rice and that only a sensational offer may get a deal done: “It was always the plan, there was no intention to lose Declan Rice,” Moyes said. “We have had no bids and no enquiries. There is a lot of speculation but I can only tell you what I know.
“I wouldn’t want to lose him anyway because he is too big a player for us, he is too important and a big part of the squad.
“He’s been captain already, I think he is learning a lot of leadership from Mark Noble, so I hope in the future we will have an incredibly talented footballer with great leadership skills and will be the captain of West Ham.
Chelsea have reportedly been offered Christian Eriksen and Marcelo Brozovic for N’Golo Kante, but have rejected the offer.
The Blues have been spending like crazy this summer and are reportedly seeking to recoup some of the money spent by letting players go that might not have a future in the plans of Frank Lampard.
And recent reports have claimed Inter boss Antonio Conte is believed to be desperate to be reunited with the French international at the San Siro and has made him his No1 midfield target.
According to the Daily Mail, the Serie A side are willing to offload two of their own players in order to bring the ex-Leicester ace to Italy as they simply cannot afford to pay that £60 million asking price that Chelsea have placed on the head of Conte.
However, the report also says Inter have had their bid for Kante knocked back, with the Blues having no interest in either Eriksen or Brozovic, but they add that Chelsea would consider cash bids for Kante.
Look, we have said all along that kante is a player that Chelsea need to keep hold of as he will allot the more attacking players to strut their stuff next season, so even though Eriksen and Brozovic would add to the Chelsea squad, they are not needed.
Chelsea have had a bid for Edouard Mendy ACCEPTED by Stade Rennais and he is on his way to complete his medical
It is no secret that Frank Lampard was looking to add another stopper to the side this summer after being left unimpressed with Kepa last season, and that led to reports that Mendy was on the shopping list.
Mendy has been impressing over in the French League with Rennes and has been constantly watched by the Chelsea scouts, and after a few weeks of talks and rumours, he is now all set to get his dream move to the Bridge.
According to Fabrizio Romano, he is heading to London to have his medical this weekend in hope that a deal will be sealed before the Premier League season opener for the Blues on Monday.
Romano also claims that Lampard has been keeping quiet about a possible deal in respect for the French side, he Tweeted: “Final decision is now up to Rennes president. Mendy wants to join Chelsea and the club are trying to make it happen – that’s why Lampard decided to keep silence about this deal to respect Rennes. After signing a new goalkeeper, Chelsea will consider a move for Rice. 🔵 #CFC
Chelsea are now close to sign Edouard Mendy from Rennes. New bid submitted on last hours and club ‘confident’ to complete deal on next hours. Personal terms already agreed. He’s pushing to leave and join #CFC… and he’s getting closer. 🔵 #Chelsea #transfers
