Campbell admits delight midfielder is signing up, Abramovic gives Chelsea green Light to sign Lukaku and Van De Beek message sent to Man United in news of the day…

Kevin Campbell has admitted that he is excited to see Emil Smith-Rowe sign up to a new contract with the Arsenal.

Smith-Rowe has been a sensation in that Arsenal shirt this season and has full established himself as a player that is valuable to that first-team and that could help the club get back to the very top of the game.

The youngster is contracted to the Gunners until 2023 and there has been some talk that the club are struggling to open talks and get him signed up to a new contract, which of course, has led to speculation in the media that a few clubs in the Premier League are interested in a possible deal.

However, with the season coming towards a close, Arteta recently confirmed that the Arsenal are in talks with the players agents about a nice big new contract that he has earned after a brilliant season.

And Campbell praised the midfielder for his contributions and says he deserves a new deal: “Smith Rowe is the only one of the youngsters left that we need to sign,” he told Football Insider.

“Martinelli, Saka and Balogun have all signed. We just need Smith Rowe to put pen to paper and then we are in business.

“He definitely deserves a new deal after what he’s done this season. To get him tied down would be fantastic. He has proven himself this season. He is a great player.

“It would be perfect if we could get him on a long-term contract. Those four players are going to be massively influential at Arsenal in the coming years. I cannot think of many clubs that have four better youngsters.”

Donny van de Beek has been encouraged to fight for his place at Manchester United and not leave the club at the end of the season.

Van De Beek was a big money buy in the summer transfer window after establishing himself as one of the most creative players in Europe with Ajax, but since his move to Manchester, he has struggled to nail down a regular spot in the side.

He has taken in 27 appearances across all competitions this season, but only two of those outings have been top-flight starts and just one goal has been contributed to the collective cause.

And that has led to alot of speculation in the media that the Dutchman will look to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season and join a club that is more willing to give him the game time he wants.

However, Ajax director of football Marc Overmars believes he can still wrestle his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans on a more permanent basis.

“I think Donny should just fight, stay next year and try to claim a starting place,” the ex-Arsenal winger told Dutch broadcaster NOS, via Manchester Evening News.

“You shouldn’t leave so quickly.”

Former Man Utd goalkeeper Edwin van de Sar has also spoken out on Van de Beek, telling ESPN’s Good Morning Eredivisie: “Of course I feel sad for Donny… the midfield of Manchester United is too stacked, they’ve not had any injuries. It’s hard for him.”

Fresh reports have claimed that Roman Abramovic has given the green light for Chelsea to sign Romelu Lukaku in the summer window.

With the likes of Timo Werner, Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud all failing to impress in front of goal this season, It is pretty clear that the German coach wants to add a premium striker to the attack.

Erling Haaland has been the name most linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as the young man has become one of the most sought after players in world football, but the club will face strong competition from several rivals across Europe including Real Madrid and Manchester City.

And according to recent reports, Chelsea now view Lukaku as the ‘most achievable’ target for the upcoming window and are now accelerating plans to re-sign the Belgium international

Now the Daily Express website has claimed that Abramovic has given his full backing to Tuchel to bring Lukaku to the Premier League in the summer, even at that massive £105 million asking price

Chelsea wanted to re-sign Lukaku in 2017 when they were managed by the now Inter boss Antonio Conte, But United snuck in at the last minute to seal a deal for the striker, but now that Abramovic wants that Premier League title back, he is ready to pay the big money to get a deal done.

Roundup..

If the reports are true and Abramovic has given the green light for a deal to happen, Lukaku is a man that would be a very good signing for the club.

However, there is a massive BUT! The Belgian is very happy at Inter and they have no intention of selling, so despite all the rumours, we would be very shocked to see him back at Chelsea next season.
