Lucas Torreira to leave Arsenal? Father has transfer message on Seria A return

The father of Arsenal star Lucas Torreira has dropped a hint that his son could return to Serie A.

After months of speculation and weeks of transfer talks, Arsenal finally managed to secure a deal for Torreira after the World Cup had finished in a deal that was close to the £30 million mark, a bargain in many peoples eyes.

He has adapted to the pace and quality of the premier Leagued with relative ease and has become a huge part of the season for new boss Unai Emery, who believed Torreira would finally solve the holding midfielder role at the Emirates, something which Arsene Wenger was unable to do towards the end of his reign.

But his father Ricardo has come out and set tongues wagging by admitting that the talented midfielder still harbours a fondness for Italy, and could make a return back to Seria A in the near future.

“Obviously, Lucas is very fond of Italian football, where he grew up, and might return to Italy in future,” Torreira’s father Ricardo said on the Daily Express website.

“You can never say never, so it’s possible he could come back to this marvellous country and, why not to Napoli or another club that makes an offer?”

Will Torreira leave Arsenal anytime soon?

The Gunners was the perfect move for Torreira to make and it has already developed his game, so he is seemingly happy enough right now and Arsenal have no worries about him leaving in the coming windows, as he has a big future with the club.

Emery is keen to sign a few more players that will help Torreira out in midfield, so even though he has a desire to head back to Italian football, it would be too much of a step back right now for the midfielder to make
