Stay updated with the latest Arsenal FC transfer news and gossip! Our roundup for October 25, 2024, covers potential signings, player departures, and all the buzz surrounding the Gunners as they prepare for the upcoming fixtures.
ARSENAL TOLD TO SIGN GYOKERES –
Former Gunners star Bacary Sagna is the latest name to suggest that ARSENAL should make sure that they sign Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres in the coming transfer windows.
.The Swede, who scored 29 goals in his maiden season, has already notched up 11 in just eight games so far this campaign and Sagna believes the 26-year-old could offer Arteta a different profile to his attacking options.
He was a player that ARSENAL were very heavily linked with signing during the summer window, but his massive asking price was a real problem for the Gunners, and in the end, the decision was not made to make a move for the striker.
‘I’d like to see Arsenal go for Viktor Gyokeres – he’s amazing. He’s a pure striker who would offer some depth to Arsenal,’ the Frenchman told Metro.
‘He’s also quite tall so whenever the team are out wide, they can cross the ball a bit more and that’s been missing a bit for me.
‘They need to find a solution in and around the box but sometimes you just need to put it in the box. He’ll help them be dangerous from crosses and set pieces and in open play, he’s clinical and something different.
‘I trust Gabriel Jesus and I like his work ethic, but you need a bit of everything if you want to be able to compete. You almost need two competitive teams in the squad because there are so many games a season.’
Gyokeres has a €100m (£85m) release clause in his contract and, speaking last month, Sporting president Frederico Varandas insisted any interested club would have to hit that fee to sign the talisman.

Look, Gyokeres is a quality striker that could have been a great signing for ARSENAL – he will come at a risk for many clubs as the Premier League is alot better than the Portuguese League.
But with the new financial rules – it will be interesting to see if clubs are willing to pay that big money for the player in the coming transfer windows as he does have the potential to go on and become one of the best strikers in the game.
POGBA TO ARSENAL CLAIM MADE –
Former Manchester United and Juventus star aul Pogba has been urged to make a stunning Premier League return and sign for ARSENAL
Pogba, 31, is desperate to get his career back on track after his four-year ban for doping offences was reduced to 18 months following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The French World Cup winner will be free to resume training from January 2025 and is eligible to play again in March, and moves to the MLS or Saudi Arabia have been suggested as possibilities for Pogba.
However – former Gunners star Bacary Sagna has opened up and claimed that a move back to the premier League should happen for Pogba, and a move to Arsenal should happen: ‘The Premier League suits Paul Pogba – I would love to see him join Arsenal,’ Sagna told Paddy Power.
‘It would be great – he has experience; he loves to play with young players around him – that is when he is most efficient.
‘At the 2018 World Cup, that was when he was most efficient – he had friends around him.
‘Arsenal have a young, fresh team, and I see him performing in an Arsenal shirt. He will get love from their fans.
‘Now, he can start from scratch again – he’s had time away from football, and he’ll be back with a desire to get back into a good space and play football again.’

When Pogba was in the Premier League he was constantly plagued by injuries, poor performances and bad headlines, he is not good enough to play in that Arsenal side and that is why this move will never happen.
He will probably end up back in France or Saudi Arabia – his top level football days are over because of this latest ban – ARSENAL fans will be shocked at the message, but it will not happen.
ARSENAL NEEDS JHON DURAN?
Troy Deeney says ARSENAL ‘need’ a striker like Jhon Duran to achieve their ambitions, and have encouraged the Gunners to make a move for the powerhouse forward.
Duran, 20, has picked up where he left off after finishing strongly last season, racking up seven goals in his opening 12 appearances for Villa.
Villa are acutely aware of the growing interest in Duran from around Europe, with La Liga giants Barcelona also said to weighing up a January transfer bid, and In response, the club have slapped a £75million price tag on the Colombian and will not be entertaining offers of anything below that figure.
And Deeney believes the forward would be a perfect fit for the Gunners: ‘You see with Ollie Watkins now that his game has risen. At the start of the season, Ollie was pretty poor, missed a lot of chances,’ the ex-Watford captain said on CBS Sports.
‘But they’ve got this guy [Duran] in the background, “Hold on, who is this kid? He shouldn’t be doing that!”, and now he keeps going, he keeps going.
‘He’s just got a massive contract… whether that’s to keep him or whether that’s to sell him, that’s for different people to talk about.
‘But for me, if I’m Chelsea or ARSENAL, that’s the type of striker I need.’
He added: ‘He’s young, arrogant, ignorant and he can get away with it. Every time he scores he says, “What more do you want me to do?”, but it’s about having good pros around him to get hold of him and say, “Listen, young man…”.
‘I’ve been there, I’ve made more mistakes than most people. You make a lot of mistakes, you think you’re the man, you think you know it all.
‘But once you get to 22, 23, 24, people just go, “Oh, we’ve figured him out now”, and that’s what he has to understand now.
‘At the moment, if he doesn’t score, it doesn’t matter because Ollie Watkins does.
‘But if he wants to fill the big-boy shoes, be the No.9 for whatever team he plays for, there is an expectation that you have to score 20-odd goals every single season and every single game. That’s completely different.’
