£157m star would make Man United fans happy, Fernandes warning sent to Solskjaer, £100 powerhouse perfect Man United signing
Here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United news from icfootballnews.com
Ian Wright believes new Manchester United signing Bruno Fernandes could encounter the same problems as Paul Pogba as he tries to make the side’s blunt attack start to tick.
United ended months of speculation at the end of the transfer window by securing a deal for Fernandes, whom they had bee chasing since the summer transfer window after ne became one of the most sought after players of last summer.
But he arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon at the end of the January window in a deal that could reach £67.7million and made his debut in Saturday’s goalless draw with Wolves.
Speaking on Match of the Day, Wright explained: ‘You look at those stats, I’ve seen the same with Pogba and it looks it might happen the same with him.
‘He needs something in front of him. He needs someone to run onto things.
‘If [United] are going to carry on playing like that he’s going to slip into that ordinary kind of category as well unfortunately.’
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a similar remark after the game and feels both Fernandes and Anthony Martial would benefit from more movement from the team’s attackers. On whether Bruno will help to provide more final-third threat, he said: ‘Well we’ll keep on working on it. His creativity is one of his strengths, he can see passes and play passes.
‘We need more movement, get him used to players’ qualities and us in his qualities. And that’s what we’re practicing.’
Manchester United should jump in and sign Philippe Coutinho if Bayern Munich do not exercise their option to buy the Barcelona man,
Coutinho made a name for himself at Liverpool as one of the best creative midfielders in the game and Barcelona were determined to acquire his services as the long-term replacement for Andreas Iniesta.
However, his move to the Camp Nou has not gone down as well as many had hoped and after the arrival of Antoine Griezmann, he has fallen well down the pecking order, meaning that he was shipped out o Bayern Munich on a loan basis.
The former Liverpool man has impressed in patches with the Bundesliga champions, having an hand in over 20 goals this season for the dominant German Champions.
But according there is a feeling that Bayern may not take up the opportunity to sign Coutinho on a permanent basis, meaning United could swoop in for a possible deal.
United are keen to add some big named players to the side in the coming transfer windows, and United have reportedly seen signing Coutinho as the ideal man to come in and add some star quality to the side.
United have an exciting side, but they need to add some world class talent, and for the £100 million that he is on the market for, it could be a great move for the Blues.
If Bayern don’t want to spend all that money on Coutinho, United definitely should. So it will be interesting to see just how this plans out at the end of the season, as most clubs would love to have him in the squad.
Manchester United target Kalidou Koulibaly has decided that he will not leave Napoli on deadline day, but United should make a summer move
Look despite all the transfer speculation and rumours over the summer window that Solskjaer was going to be backed in his chase to land some world class signings, The Red Devils once again wasted their money on signing players that are the future, and that are past their best.
And inability to spend the big money on leader-type-players has started to cost the side dearly in the early stages of the season, but there have been calls in the media for United to go out and spend some serious money on players that will come in and make an impact on the side, send a statement to the rest of the Premier League, and be a leader, someone like Koulibaly.
Koulibaly has been outstanding for Napoli over the past few seasons and his performances has attracted all sorts of interest from the games biggest clubs, with the likes of UNITED , Manchester City, Real Madrid and even Barcelona all joining Chelsea and Arsenal in the chase for the defenders signature.
It has been reported on many occasions that Napoli do not want to sell one of their biggest players and would rather keep him at the club well before he leaves for a a big club, that is how much they reportedly are desperate to keep him at the club.
Powerhouse Koulibaly decided that he will not leave Napoli during the January window and would much rather wait until the summer transfer window.
Strong, classy and composed, the 28-year-old is rightly considered world-class and would be a major statement of intent from Solskjaer in his quest to get the club back challenging for more than a top four spot.
But United SHOULD MAKE A MOVE AT THE END OF THE SEASON AS KOULIBALY WOULD BE THE PERFECT SIGNING FOR THE CLUB.
