Record-Breaking star sends OFFICIAL message to the Chelsea fans ‘really excited’ to get going

Enzo Fernandez has expressed his delight at joining Chelsea upon the official unveiling at his new club.

The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge throughout January after impressing for Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar, but the Blues had to wait until the final day to get a deal done.

The London giants agreed to pay his massive £106 million asking price and bring him to the club on a massive eight-and-a-half year contract – which has stunned many fans that is for sure.

But after officially being unveiled as a Chelsea player – Fernandez has now come out and admitted that he is grateful for the move to Stamford Bridge – Speaking to the club’s official website, Fernandez said: “I am grateful to Chelsea and its ownership for doing everything they could to make me a part of this project.

“I’m happy and excited to join the Pride of London, to play in the best league in the world and to compete for the biggest trophies. I can’t wait to play in front of our fans and help my teammates on and off the pitch.”

Todd Boehly, Chelsea chairman, and Behdad Eghbali, co-controlling owner, said: ‘In Enzo we are signing a World Cup-winner and one of the brightest talents in global football.

“We are excited to add him to Graham’s squad and we are sure he will form an important part of our team going forward. Enzo has demonstrated his ability at the very highest levels so we’re looking forward to seeing what he will do in Chelsea blue!’

There is no doubt that the young man is talented and could be a world class star – but Chelsea have paid some serious money and fans will be hoping that he makes the impact that many are hoping for.
