Former Man United boss has Premier League message for Liverpool

Former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he would put money on Liverpool winning the Premier League this season.

After a number of world class signings over the last few transfer windows, Jurgen Klopp has transfsormed Liverpool into one of the best sides in Europe, and they currently sit four points ahead of rivals Manchester City after going down 2-1 to the Champions last weekend.

However, they currently have the best defensive record in the League thanks to Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson, and the considering they have Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Robert Firmino and the rejuvinated Xherdan Shaqiri all up top, they are now favourites to push on and win the Premier League for the first time in 29-years.

And Van Gaal has admitted that he has been impressed by Klopps side, telling the Daily Mirror: “If I was to put my money on one club for the league, it would be Liverpool.

“Liverpool have a team that can defend much better. That’s because Klopp has trained them to be a fighting force, whether they have the ball or not.

“That’s exactly what is lacking in Guardiola’s team now. City have fabulous football ideas and a sparkling way of playing but not the right fighting spirit.

“Don’t get me wrong, I still love to watch City play but the way Klopp makes Liverpool play is absolutely fantastic.”

Can Liverpool win the League?

Many Liverpool fans will tell you that it is too early to be thinking about such a thing, as they can all remember last time they got so close. But if Klopp can keep his side winning and keep the players positive, then yes they will win the League this season.

Liverpool have been the best side in England this season and although United fans dont want to hear it, they deserve the title on their current form.
