Cherries to cash in, Emery wants N’Zonzi reunion, Solskjaer announces target leaving, Fraser opens up in Arsenal Saturday

Here is the daily roundup of Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews

Fresh reports have again claimed that Arsenal boss Unai Emery is seeking a reunion with Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.

The Spaniard arrived at the club with big ambitions but a small transfer kitty to work with, as the Gunners hierarchy di not want to go into the summer window and spend hundreds of millions of pounds on new faces.

As such, Emery has only managed to spend £80 million on new players, with the impressive Matteo Guendouzi, Bernd Leno and Lucas Torreira just a few names that have arrived.

But reports suggested he was keen to add one more midfielder to his squad this coming summer, and N’Zonzi has become his top transfer target as he could be available as the Frenchman would be open to the idea with working with the Spanish boss in the Premier League.

And according to the Daily Star website, Emery wants to re-sign the Roma midfielder, although the Gunners face competition for his signature from Monaco. (Read more)

Reports have claimed that Bournemouth are considering whether or not to cash in on winger Ryan Fraser, with Arsenal interested in a potential transfer deal.

Now Arsenal are form favourites to finish back inside the top four this season and guarantee themselves Champions League football for next season, Emery is keen to bolster his squad in the summer transfer window and try to add a bit more creativity and goals to his squad.

Danny Welbeck is not guaranteed to get a new contract, Aaron Ramsey has already agreed a move to Italian giants Juventus, while his January signing Denis Suarez has not made the kind of impact that Emery has expected and many reports in the media have all suggested that he will not be getting a new contract to stay at the club beyond this season.

And according to reports, Suarez’s failure to make an impact at the Emirates has led to Emery drawing up a list of alternative options, with Fraser one of the top names on the list.

Emery wants more threat from out wide and Fraser certainly provides that, having laid on 10 assists in the Premier League this season with only Chelsea’s Eden Hazard having more assists then the Bournemouth wide man.

And now the Daily Mirror have claimed with Fraser’s contact at the Vitality Stadium set to expire at the end of next season, the Cherries face a decision whether to cash in or risk losing the 25-year-old for nothing.

Bournemouth boss Howe recently admitted that he could lose the impressive winger, stating on the Sky Sports website: ‘We have spoken to Ryan and his representatives about his contract. It is one where we will see what happens,’

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Arsenal transfer target Antonio Valencia will be leaving the club, and he will need to find a new captain for the club.

The 33-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of the season and United have not taken their option for extending it for a further 12 months, which means that he is all set to pack his bags and walk away from the club after a decade of top-level service for the Red Devils.

And that led to shock speculation that Arsenal boss Unai Emery may be interested in taking him to the Emirates on a short-term deal, as the Spanish boss is keen to provide some much needed back-up to the injury prone Hector Bellerin, as Stephen Lichsteiner has not impressed like many had hoped.

Now amid all the transfer speculation surrounding the future of Valencia, Solskjaer has come out and revealed that he will be looking for a new club captain, as Valencia will be departing the club, he told Sky Sports news: “I’ve got a couple of players in my head that could be in the group of captaincy.

“We’ve had Antonio [Valencia], he’s going. We’ve had David de Gea, Ashley Young, Paul Pogba, Chris Smalling. We will see who’s here for next season.”

Valancia recently stoked the fire that he could be on his way to the MLS at the end of the season after the full-back retweeted and liked a fan hoping the news is true that he would be linking up with Wayne Rooney at DC United.

Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser has admitted he ‘needs to get back to basics’ amid all the transfer speculation suggesting Arsenal are keen on a transfer deal this summer.

Emery wants more threat from out wide and Fraser certainly provides that, having laid on 10 assists in the Premier League this season with only Chelsea’s Eden Hazard having more assists then the Bournemouth wide man.

But amid all the transfer speculation, Fraser has admitted he is just trying to get on with things, telling the Metro website: ‘I’m just trying to get on with my work.

‘Every player says they try to come away from the speculation but at the same time the best thing I can do is concentrate on the pitch. ‘There’s no point in stuff coming out and then I start to have bad games.

‘So need to get back to start scoring start assisting start winning again and what will be will be ‘I love it here, not just the football club but the manager and especially my teammates as well -I’m close with them all.’

Fraser may not be the big named player that many Arsenal fans crave, but his record speaks for itself and under the Guidance of Emery he could become a creativity machine as he has become a top Premier League player over the last few months.
