Star reveals big United issues, Man United urged to complete ex-Gunner deal, £67m man tipped to thrive after making United switch
Guys here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United news, gossip and transfer talk from icfootballnews over the past 24 hours.
Aaron Ramsey could be sold by Juventus after only a season in Italy – and Manchester United have been told to sign him.
Ramsey was in talks over a new deal for months, but simply could not come to some sort of agreement at the club as very high wages, and rumours he would not be part of Unai Emery’s plans at the Emirates, meant he was able to agree a pre-contract agreement with Juventus in January.
And he announced that he would be making that big move to Juventus, after agreeing a four-and-a-half year deal with the Champions for a wage of around £325,000-a-week.
He spent 11 years with the north London club after joining the Gunners as a teenager from Cardiff and, will go down in history as one of the club’s greatest midfielders having scored two FA Cup final winning goals.
But reports on Tuttosport, via Calciomercato, suggests Ramsey’s future is already in doubt and that he could leave after just one season, And Tony Cascarino, the former Chelsea striker and talkSPORT pundit, believes the Red Devils would be wise to tempt Ramsey to Old Trafford.
In his THE TIME column on Monday, Cascarino writes: “Ramsey would be the perfect fit for United.
“Ramsey played in Juventus’ defeat away to Verona on Saturday but it was fairly typical of his first season in Italy as he came on as a substitute and didn’t have an impact on the game.
“I can see the former Arsenal man back in the Premier League next season.
“Reports linking him to Manchester United make a lot of sense as he is the sort of player they need – a proven midfielder with goalscoring pedigree and plenty of Premier League experience.
“I could see him not costing too much, with Juventus possibly settling for £20 million as that would get them most of their outlay back.”
Bernardo SIlva has claimed that Bruno Fernandes will thrive at Manchester United after sealing his massive move.
After becoming one of the most sought after players of last summers transfer window, United ended months of speculation regarding the future of Fernandes and completed a massive £67 million deal to secure his services towards the back end of the January transfer window.
And his fellow countryman Silva is confident United have signed a genuine star who will add serious quality to their team.
He told Sky Sports: “I think he is going to adapt [to the Premier League], he has already played in Italy when he was younger, so it’s not his first experience aboard.
“I’m happy for him, I’m happy that he’s playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world and I think he’s going to do great at Man United.
“The best thing about Bruno is his mentality and the way he gives himself to the team 100 per cent and he just goes in every game.
“It doesn’t matter who he’s playing against and his mentality and character is the best thing about him.
“Changing is always complicated, you have to adapt to the way your new team plays, your team-mates, the way the manager wants to play, sometimes new systems so maybe it will take him a few months but I think it’s good that he’s here and he’ll be a great asset for Man United – but hopefully not against Man City.
Manchester United midfielder Fred admits that there are “lots of problems” within the squad right now – one of them being the lack of creativity in midfield.
United have struggled to get back to their very best this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and there is a real feeling around the media that the lack of quality in key areas of the pitch means that the Red Devils will fail to get back inside the top four, and have Champions League football next season.
United are eighth in the Premier League with just over a third of the season to go, and with the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and even Chelsea all challenging for that top dour spot, they have a real issues on their hands, especially as they fail to score the goals they need on a regular basis.
Fred was asked about United’s season so far in an interview with Ale Oliveira and he admitted that there were multiple problems in a scathing review.
“We are lacking a lot right now, first of all we need to figure out things on the pitch,” he said on the Daily Express.
“We are lacking creativity, especially in midfield.
“We also need to improve as a group, our group lacks the ‘sticking together mentality’, we have lots of problems.
“There are a lot of discussions, every group has this sort of problem, but ours has this.”
Look, this UNITED side will struggle to score goals or even create them as Solskjaer has inherited a side that needs a lot of investment over the coming seasons to even compete with Manchester City and Liverpool.
Solskjaer needs to work on the side in the summer, and the United board need to hand him the type of funds he needs to get the very best out of his side, otherwise, United will head further back from the top than they already are.
