Silva opens up and announce £50 million Fred ‘staying’ at Manchester United
Fred has no intention to leave Manchester United, according to his agent Gilberto Silva.
The Brazilian moved to Old Trafford from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer in a deal in excess of £50m, but found first-team opportunities hard to come by under Jose Mourinho.
That has led to speculation that he could now be sold in the coming transfer window, as United look to raise funds and improve on key areas of the pitch.
However, former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto has told the Daily Star that the Brazilian midfielder has no intention of packing his bags in the winter transfer window.:
He said: “The fact that he (Fred) is not playing makes him anxious.
“But what I say to him is that he must keep working hard on a daily basis, he should be patient because the club is going through a delicate moment. But there is no chance of him leaving United. He has a five-year contract.”
Will United now see the best from Fred?
The Brazilian has not been given enough time to show his ability at Old Trafford, partly down to Mourinho, so a new manager will bring a renewed excitement into the Brazilian’s game.
He is a top player and just needs to find his feet with a run of games, so now that United know he is going nowhere, they can focus on getting the very best out of the £50 million man.
And if he doesn’t get any better, then consider letting him go at the end of the season.
