Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Christopher Nkunku has responded to reports that he could be interested in a move to PSG and hinted that a move could happen if an approach was made.

Nkunku graduated from PSG’s youth system and made his senior debut for the club in 2015. He spent four years in the French capital and made 78 appearances across all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants before moving to RB Leipzig in 2019

Since his move to CHELSEA just a few transfer windows ago – Nkunku has really struggled with injuries at Chelsea and has been unable to make the kind of impact that many people had hoped for.

However – Nkunku is back fit and this season, he already has seven goals to his name in 11 appearances across all competitions, despite the fact he has been restricted to just 126 minutes across seven Premier League appearances.

When asked if he plans to move back to Paris and rejoin his former team, Nkunku told Telefoot, “PSG remains a big club, but there has not been one approach.”

It comes after pundit Dean Saunders told the Frenchman to leave Chelsea: “It probably isn’t realistic for Villa to sign Curtis Jones or Harvey Elliott but I was trying to give an example. I’m looking at clubs who have really good players who aren’t getting a game,” Saunders told Bonus Code Bets.

“Chelsea, I’ve lost count of how many players they’ve got but they can’t all get in the team. They’re not only the best players in the country they’re from but they’re treated like the best ever from that country. They’ve also been the best players at the clubs they were at.

“They find it really difficult to sit on the bench for five or six games and not get a game. I’ve been a manager and this is where you start getting issues.”

He added: “It (issues) cropped up when they played in the League Cup [against Barrow]. Nkunku scored a hat-trick. The manager left Nicolas Jackson out of the team, he rested him and then he put Nkunku in who scored three. Then when Chelsea play on Sunday against Brighton, he has to call Nkunku in and say ‘I’m sorry, I’m leaving you out, I’m putting Nicolas Jackson back in’.

“At that moment, Nkunku knows no matter what I do, I’m not going to start in front of Jackson. With six games in, I can’t see a future at the club. As long as the manager keeps winning games, he’s got a bit of power. But if you lose two or three, players in that Chelsea dressing room all start getting a voice. That’s when they turn against you and that’s the problem when you have too many players.

“So, going back to your point. I’m sure there’s players at CHELSEA that you could slide off of that. Arsenal are only paying a third of Raheem Sterling’s wages with Chelsea paying the rest. You probably can get a deal out of Chelsea right now.”

BADIASHILE MESSAGE SENT –

Chelsea’s £35m signing Benoit Badiashile is ‘not good enough for the Premier League’, according to former Blues defender William Gallas.

The 23-year-old made over 100 appearances for Monaco and had started representing the France national team, with his performances making Chelsea decide to make a move just a few windows ago.

However – After arriving at Stamford Bridge midway through the 2022-23 campaign, Badiashile made 11 appearances for Chelsea during the rest of the season before featuring in half of the club’s Premier League games last term

However – Gallas has now come out and told the Chelsea board that Badiashile is simply not good enough for the Premier League: ‘When I saw Benoit Badiashile at Monaco about two years ago, I knew then that he wasn’t the sort of player that would thrive in the Premier League,’ Gallas told Prime Casino.

‘He has quality, but not at Premier League level. I was really surprised when Chelsea signed him and now he is suffering on the bench because he isn’t playing.

‘He isn’t feeling good because he isn’t playing games but I don’t think he is good enough to be starting, this is when you have to look at the scouts and the people that make the signings at Chelsea.’

The player was making a real name for himself during his time with Monaco and was on his way up in the game – but this move to Chelsea has simply not worked out and he is now heading backwards.

Gallas is probably right that the Frenchman is not good enough for the Premier League – the French division is probably the standard that he will excel at. So even though he will probably stay until the summer – he may be a player that Chelsea decide to sell at the end of the campaign

PALMER MAKES TRANSFER CLAIM –

Cole Palmer has come out and claimed that he was told to not join Chelsea after making the decision to leave Manchester City just a few seasons ago.

The highly talented 22-year-old attacking midfielder, has rapidly made a name for himself at CHELSEA since his move from Manchester City in 2023 and is the man at Stamford Bridge that Enzo Maresca will really rely on over the next 12 months.

He has recently signed a massive new contract at Chelsea – but Whether he actually stays at Chelsea for a decade remains to be seen – but the player has now come out and claimed that he was told to not make the move to the Blues

While on international duty for England, Palmer told ITV Sport: “How do I look back on leaving Man City? Yeah, it was a gamble because I didn’t know what I was going into, I didn’t know the club I was going into.

“I had people telling me, don’t go here, don’t go there. But I just decided what I wanted to do myself and did it.

“To move clubs, it changed my life. In many different ways, leaving Manchester where I grew up, getting away from people I didn’t need to be around. And the football as well obviously.”

That massive new contract that Palmer has just signed means that Chelsea do not have to sell the midfielder – and we fully expect him to stay at the Bridge for the next few seasons – but all we can say is that Chelsea were very lucky to get the player – he is surely now one of the best attacking stars in the Premier League.
