Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes says he would join Brazilian side Corinthians ‘tomorrow’nif he could.

Over the past couple of seasons – Gabriel has developed into one of the most dominant defenders in the Premier League and a man that Mikel Arteta can really rely on every week.

Gabriel made his 150th appearance for ARSENAL earlier in the season and if he stays away from transfer talk, looks like he could be at the Emirates for many more seasons,  though he admits he wants to play for Corinthians one day.

‘Corinthians, that’s since I was born,’ Gabriel said when discussing his love for the Brazilian club. ‘And today I don’t think it has to be any different.

‘I still go to Corinthians games by train. It’s my dream, I want to play for Corinthians, I want to feel that energy.’

Asked whether he can see himself at Corinthians, Gabriel added: ‘It’s something to think about.

‘Sometimes I stop and think, “Do you dream of playing for Corinthians?” I do. “When would you play for Corinthians?” For me, I’d be at Corinthians tomorrow.

‘I hope it doesn’t take too long because I want to feel the energy of those fans, who are incredible, as soon as possible.’

Gabriel is a brilliantly gifted defender that has been amazing for ARSENAL next to William Saliba – he is one player that Mikel Arteta needs to make sure does not get tempted with a move away from the Emirates.

We are sure that one day he will get that move to Corinthians – but he is far too good to make that move at this stage of his career – he has many more years of playing in Europe and winning trophies before making that move back to his homeland.
