£40M midfielder says ‘he is excited to work with Maresca’ after Chelsea move!

Conor Gallagher says everyone at Chelsea is ‘excited’ to work with Enzo Maresca in the wake of Mauricio Pochettino’s departure.

After a stuttering season at Stamford Bridge – the decision was made from Pochettino and CHELSEA to part ways as he was not the man to lead the club back into the Champions League.

The likes of Kieran McKenna, Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi and Julian Nagelsmann had all been linked with the vacant position before Maresca was officially unveiled as the man for the job this week.

The Italian steered Leicester City back into the Premier League after topping the Championship last season – and is coming to the Blues with a big reputation of possession based football.

The future of England international Gallagher has been a major talking point among Chelsea fans in recent weeks, with the club under pressure to balance the books and considering selling the midfielder this summer.

However, Gallagher has distanced himself from speculation of a possible move, insisting he is raring to get started under the new Chelsea manager.

Gallagher told Sky Sports: ‘Really exciting.

‘I’ve heard really good things and I’ve seen really good things.

‘Myself and everyone at Chelsea are really happy and excited to work with him.’

Gallagher is a very gifted midfielder that worked so hard for CHELSEA last season – so it could a wise decision to keep him at the club for at least another season.

However – if he doesnt suit the style of Maresca then we are sure that he could get sold this coming transfer window – as the Italian will want more of a productive midfielder in that position.
