Arsenal fans told incoming signing ‘is really, really good’
William Gallas has claimed that the signing of Riccardo Calafiori will make Arsenal an even better defensive machine.
ARSENAL are on the verge of making the announcement of the signing of Calafiori after months of speculation – as the Italian is reportedly on his way to complete his much-talked about move to the Emirates.
He is rated as one of the best defenders on Seria A after an impressive season for Bologna – and has been brought in to add some much needed quality and depth to that Arsenal midfield.
And Gallas believes the addition of Calafiori will make them an even meaner machine, having been the best defensive side in the Premier League last season: ‘I did speak to one of my friends who knows a lot about Italian football and asked him what he thought of him,’ Gallas told Gambling Zone.
‘My friend played in Italy for several years and watches Serie A every week – he played for Inter Milan and Lazio, he was a great player, but I’m not going to say who – and he told me that Ricardo Calafiori is really, really good.
‘He’s young. He has good quality, and he can play as a centre back or as a left back. I think he would be a good signing for Arsenal because the club doesn’t really have a left back at the moment. There are doubts about that position.’

There is alot of excitement about the imminent arival of Calafiori and to be honest – it looks like it will be a great bit of business by ARSENAL as the man looks quality.
He will of course need time to settle – but last season showed that he is worth that £43 million that is being paid that is for sure.
